The Catholic Community of St. Cecilia Weekend Masses:
Saturdays: 5:00 PM
Sundays: 8:30 AM, 11:00 AM

09/11/2026

Today, on this 25th anniversary of September 11, the Diocese of Metuchen pauses in prayer to honor and remember all the innocent lives lost, the brave first responders who sacrificed everything, and the families whose lives were changed forever.

As a community of faith, we turn to Christ for hope and healing, praying for continued peace in our hearts, our local communities, and our world.

Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, comfort those who still grieve, grant peace to those we lost, and guide us to be instruments of Your love and unity today and always. Amen.

The Faith in Action Ministry Celebrates Name Tag Sunday

We know so many of our fellow parishioners by face and not yet by name.
Well, on the weekend of September 12th and 13th that can all change will be “Name Tag Sunday” weekend.

The Faith in Action team will be at each of the masses with blank name tags for everyone to fill out (All ministry members with ready-made name tags are asked to wear those).

We encourage everyone to get to Mass 10 or so minutes early, so you have time to make a nametag to wear during and after Mass.

If you are going to the 5pm or the 8:30 am Mass that weekend and are going to the Parish Picnic as well, we request you to save your nametag and re-wear it at the picnic. We will have name tags at the picnic for anyone who might need a fresh one.

Let’s put names to faces and get to know our fellow parishioners a little better!

Some in our diocese were expecting our new bishop to be named only a month later, by Christmas. Others thought our new bishop would come before Holy Week. Of course, the reality is that we still do not have our new bishop (unless of course he is named between the time I submit this article and the p...
