Exciting to see progress!

The first signs of a superstructure are emerging at the Springfield Missouri Temple site, where wood framing for the adjoining meetinghouse is rising. Located on a 38-acre property on South Farm Road in southeast Springfield, the meetinghouse is taking form as crews erect the walls and set roof trusses over the broad, single-story structure. Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Stake Presidency invites you to attend our stake conference on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27. Elder Yoon Hwan Choi (General Authority Seventy) will be presiding.

The Stake Conference will include:

Stake Leadership Training - Saturday, September 26 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM - at the Monett Stake Center. (for all Stake Leaders, High Council, Bishoprics/ Branch Presidencies, Stake & Ward Executive Secretary's and Clerks, Elders Quorum Presidencies, Ward Mission Leaders, Relief Society presidencies, Aaronic Priesthood Leaders (youth & or adult), Young Women (including youth, YW presidencies), Primary leaders, Sunday School Presidencies).

Saturday Evening Adult Session (All adult members of the stake 18 years of age or older) - Saturday, September 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM - at the Monett Stake Center.

Sunday Devotion with the Rising Generation on September 27 from 8:00 to 9:30 AM - at the Monett Stake Center (for all primary (ages 8 to 11 years old), all young men and young women, YSA) parents and leaders are invited to attend. For the Wards/ Branchs that are far away we will be broadcasting that session. A link will be sent to the Bishop/ Branch President for those who will not be able to attend in person.

Sunday General Session on September 27 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM - at the Monett Stake Center (for all members and visitors) We will broadcast to each meeting house.
For those who are physically unable to attend the Saturday Evening Session in Monett or Sunday Session in Monett or their ward or branch’s meetinghouse, please reach out to your bishop or branch president for instructions for viewing the conference. The Stake Conference will only be available through a private link now. This link will be provided to bishops and branch presidents a week prior to the conference.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Sunday session of Stake Conference in Monett. The Sunday session of Stake Conference will also be broadcast to each of the meetinghouses.

If parking at the stake center becomes full you are welcomed to park at the property next door that is vacant. It is now owned by the church.

We invite you to attend and encourage you to invite friends and others to attend, especially those to whom you minister.

We love General Conference and the chance to hear our Prophet and apostles speak to us.
How do you prepare for this amazing weekend?

The First Presidency “invites all to join as we hear the word of God during the upcoming 196th Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” according to a letter released Thursday, September 3, 2026, in 54 languages.

The global broadcast, which originates from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, will consist of four 2-hour sessions on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4.

All conference sessions will be streamed live on the broadcasts page of ChurchofJesusChrist.org and Gospel Library in 80 languages, the General Conference YouTube channel in 14 languages, and other radio, television, satellite and digital channels.

Psalms 46 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Be still and know that I am God.
Psalms 55:16-18 - I will call upon God...Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray...and He shall hear my voice.
He hath delivered my soul in peace.

I have had some anxiety in my life lately. Just a lot going on and uncertainties . Last week, I listened to Elder Patrick Kearon's Education Week talk "Peace and Rest". (I highly recommend it.) On my way to the temple, I listened to a podcast about the Psalms featuring Steven Sharp from the Piano Guys . I was so touched and inspired. Just as the sun was rising, I turned on music for the rest of my drive. The first three RANDOM songs were: "I Need Thee Every Hour", "Peace in Christ", and "Where Can I Turn For Peace?"
The Lord is so aware of our needs. He delivered peace to my soul. He can bring you peace also.

I thought about Job as I read my grandson's email this week. This is his first week in the mission field, and it was really tough. The food is scarce, he doesn't really know anyone there yet, he doesn't understand the language, and he feels alone. He feels like his faith is being tested. But he encouraged, "Cling to your spiritual experiences of the past like a rope and don't let go."

I think that is what Job taught as he experienced some really tough stuff. Cling to your testimony - "I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God."
"With Him is wisdom and strength, He hath counsel and understanding."

Faith in our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ is what will get us through our tough times. They can lift us, support us, and strengthen us to withstand.
