Rejoicing we can meet together at Grace Bible Fellowship again today. Thanks to all who are praying with us that we can get all the building in use.
So sad today to learn that Ind. Naz church burned last night. Praying for them and believing God to restore and help them have good place to worship. Love you all, Pastor Donnie

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's words on character remind us of one of the most fundamental truths about human nature. “You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.” This simple yet profound statement cuts to the core of what it means to be a truly moral and ethical individual. Character isn’t defined by outward appearances or wealth, but by how a person treats those with no power, influence, or wealth to offer them in return.

In a society that often praises the rich and powerful, it’s easy to get caught up in the idea that success is what defines a person. However, Goethe’s wisdom tells us that true character is revealed in our everyday interactions, particularly with those who are marginalized or vulnerable. It’s about the choices we make when no one is watching, and when there is nothing to gain from being kind. In these moments, our integrity shines through.

How often do we truly reflect on how we treat those around us, especially those we see as less important? Goethe’s quote challenges us to think about the actions that define us. The way we interact with waiters, cleaners, or even strangers in the street says more about our character than the way we treat those from whom we expect something in return. It’s easy to be kind when there’s something to be gained, but it takes true integrity to show kindness without expectations.

In a world that’s often driven by self-interest, it’s essential to remember that our worth isn’t defined by how much we have or how much we’ve achieved, but by how we treat others. When we show respect and kindness to those who can't offer us anything, we demonstrate that we are grounded in the values of empathy, fairness, and humility. True success is in the ability to lift others up, not just ourselves.

Goethe's words also remind us that we should never lose sight of our own humanity. Treating others well, regardless of their status, should be a fundamental part of how we live. It’s a powerful lesson in kindness, reminding us that every individual, no matter their role or status, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. These simple actions go a long way in building a compassionate society.

As we navigate our lives, let us strive to be the kind of people who treat others with respect and kindness—regardless of what they can do for us. When we hold ourselves to this higher standard, we not only strengthen our character but help to create a more just and compassionate world. 🌱🤝

We're looking for a location to utilize where we can set up our food pantry until we're able to resume operations at the church. We'd consider combining efforts with another local pantry close to the church who has the room for us . If there's a location with storage and freezer space available for us to use free/nearly free of cost, please contact Pastor Donnie at 309-752-3191. We're looking for immediate legitimate availability, please share.
