This Sunday during Pastor Damian’s message from Mark 1:29-39 “Jesus’ Lesson About ‘A Solitary Place’ ” he recommended The Tyranny of The Urgent by Charles Hummel.

"One of the things that booklet communicates is that what is urgent in our life isn’t always what is most important. There’s a big difference between what is urgent and what is important. And they’re two very different things, the urgent in life and the important in life, and prayer during our time with the Lord helps us to discern the difference." - Pastor Damian

This Sunday during Pastor Damian’s message from Mark 1:29-39 “Jesus’ Lesson About ‘A Solitary Place’ ” he recommended Our Daily Bread as a resource for growing in our devotional lives with the Lord.

In terms of a devotional time with the Lord, the Daily Bread booklet is a great resource in that it gives you a passage to read from the scriptures,  a short teaching, a devotional thought related to that, a thought to take away from that passage to meditate upon during the day, and then a sample prayer related to that devotional thought. It also gives a plan for reading through the scriptures in the course of the year.

So it’s a great little resource for establishing this solitary time with the Lord as a part of our lives.

These booklets are available out in the literature racks at the information counter in the fellowship hall or it can be downloaded onto your devices. Go to the website and or download the app from your app store and then have it delivered to you each morning. It’ll be sitting there waiting for you.
