Happy Good Friday you all!
Friends, sixth word from the cross John 9:30 It is finished. This phrase is one word in Greek ( tetelstai). It was not a cry of termination, but a shout of triumph, declaring the completion of Christ 's work on the cross. This triumphant declaration was a signal that Jesus had 1. fulfilled his earthly mission given by the Father John 18:37 stated that You are King, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "you say that I am a King, in fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify.
2. Fulfilled OT prophecy about the Messiah suffering (e.g; Gen. 3:15 say and I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel. ""; Isaiah 53).
3. Completed the work of spiritual rescue and restoration by providing the perfect sacrifice for sin John 1:29 say John testifies about Jesus-the next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the word! 1 Cor. 5:7 say get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch-as you really are. For Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed. Eph. 1:7 say in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace. Heb. 9:12 say He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but He entered the Most Holy Place onece for all by His own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption. Heb. 9:22 say in fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
4. Secured the decisive victory over Satan and his network of demons (Col. 2:15); and
5. Achieved the means of restoring God's relationship with His creation and sinful humanity (2 Cor.5:18-19,21; Col. 1:20-22). Nothing can be or needs to be added to Christ's finished work on the cross- and the result are ongoing. Because He endured the punishment for our offenses and rebellion against God, He opened the way for people to have a relationship with Him (Matt. 27:50, Luke 23:46). All who accept Christ's sacrifice for themselves and yield their lives to Him receive God's gift of forgiveness and eternal life.
Consdering all of God's wonderful and creative acts it may seem somewhat ironic that His highest purpose-to bring eternal life- came through death. The Creator (John 1:1-3) was sacrificed for His creation. Jesus mission was accomplished. The God had paid the perfect price for sin and bridged the gap between a Holy God and sinful people.
Through faith in Christ, we now have full access to God (Matthew. 27:51)
God bless you and keep you!
