Plattekill Fire Department
Invitation to all our members, friends and the community!
This is an open invitation inviting you to join us as we celebrate our rich Methodist history here in the Town of Plattekill on July 6, 2025. The Modena: Memorial United Methodist Church is entering a new chapter in our Methodist history.
On May 18, 2025, in a unanimous vote, Modena and New Paltz UMCs decided to merge, becoming a new congregation: New Connexions United Methodist Church. This was the result of much prayer, planning and research. We have also made the decision to sell the Modena property. We look forward to being in ministry rather than spending all our energy worrying about paying bills.
On July 6th we will gather for regular worship at 9:45 am, at New Connexions United Methodist Church, 1 Grove St., New Paltz. At 12 noon we will have a luncheon and open house at the Modena church property. We will have a Memory Wall (please bring pictures to share), a Memory Book (to write and share your memories) and a silent auction of some of our church treasures. Monies raised will help to cover pre-sale expenses. (cash, checks and electronic payments will be available) At 2 pm we will have the Deconsecration Service in the church. We will be sharing memories and historical tidbits from our rich Methodist roots here in the Town of Plattekill. Following the service, the winning bids will be announced. The bid payments can be paid by cash, check or electronically.
