The time has come. When God laid upon my heart several years ago that I would retire in 2025, I wasn't sure how that would work. The church was already in the process of separating from the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, so I knew that the appointment process which had provided pastors for many years would not be a method God would use to provide leadership and guidance to the folks at Cornatzer. In the midst of all of this, the Rev. Dr. Jamie Grant became a friend to our church through his work with God's Plan Ministries. As things progressed, the church chose Jamie to take over the role of pastor at Cornatzer Methodist Church. I am glad that the church is in good hands and I look forward to seeing what God has in store for the people of Cornatzer. Welcome Rev. Dr. Grant. God be with you as you lead the flock!

A Message from Rev. Dr. James H. Grant (aka Jamie)
New Senior Pastor, Cornatzer Methodist Church

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
It is with great humility and joy that I introduce myself as the new Senior Pastor of Cornatzer Methodist Church. I am deeply honored to follow the faithful leadership of Pastor Shane Young, through whom the Lord has laid a solid foundation for this church. We give God glory for the work that has already been done, and we stand in great expectation of what is yet to come.
My family and I are truly excited to become a part of the Cornatzer community. We believe that this is not just a new chapter in ministry, but another divine opportunity for God to enhance and expand multicultural unity within our county.
My heart’s desire is simple: that Christ be glorified, through the preaching of God’s unchanging Word and through authentic praise and worship that lifts up the name of Jesus. I warmly invite you to come and be a part of the amazing move of God happening right here at Cornatzer Methodist Church. Whether you have been walking with the Lord for years, or are just beginning your journey of faith, there is a place for you here.
Let us grow together, worship together, and reach our community together, all for the glory of God!
