WORSHIP IS EVERY SUNDAY AT 9:00 AM
In the late 1950's, folks in the Mocksville area began researching the possibility of beginning a new Lutheran congregation. After a couple of years and several meetings with the families and synodical representatives, in June 1960, the Rev. Boyce Whitener was called to the area as a mission developer. There were 72 charter members. These individuals were receiv
ed into membership of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church. In December, Pastor Whitener was called as pastor of Holy Cross. Since 1960, members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church have been involved in Mocksville, Davie County, and North Carolina in many areas. Service to the Lord Jesus Christ takes many forms. These include Storehouse for Jesus, Relay for Life, Habitat, community food programs, Davie County Advocacy Center, and the Lutheran home in Salisbury (Trinity Oaks), to name a few. Worship at Holy Cross uses a traditional Lutheran format. Our members are caring, joyful, and welcoming. Holy Communion is administered on the first and third Sundays each month as well for special services.
