It was then that she began to cultivate the ground for many great things to come in the future. By no means was she born with a silver spoon in her mouth, this great international ministry was actually birthed from the greatest traumas and oppositions in her life as a child. Tiyi, affectionately know as “A New Woman” across the internet, was brought into this world by a her mother, Mrs. Linda McDuffy, who was at the time a chronic alcoholic. Henry McDuffy, her father, who was also an alcoholic, lost his life suddenly in a tragic car accident, leaving Tiyi as a infant child to be raised up by the spirit of the Lord. She was abandoned many times by her mother, raised by several family members, and protected by Angels, as she endured severe physical, emotional, and mental abuse from the hand and mouth of her grandmother. She lived a double life, using school to be her outlet to shine and get the recognition she lacked at home. Tiyi was well-liked by her peers and teachers because of her beautiful personality, smile, and intelligence. She later discovered that all these wonderful qualities came directly from her father. She never blamed her mother for anything, because somehow she understood what her mother was going through, as she personally grew up under the harsh treatment of her grandmother. It came to a point that nothing else would soothe her, so at the age of 14, she turned to the dangerous lifestyle of promiscuity, which later became an addiction, and stronghold in her life. From pillar to post, from bedrooms to back seat of cars, night club after night club, nothing could ease the pain from her battered childhood. Even though her mother changed her life when she turned 9 years old, Tiyi still suffered from the aftermath of it. But it was also at this tender age, Tiyi gave her life to Christ, and it was at that moment God totally took over. Still faced with many challenges as a teenager and a young adult, she answered the call into the ministry at the age of 21, after the birth of her first child in 1996. This is when the vision for A New Woman Ministries was birthed, during a difficult time in her first marriage. From that day forward, Apostle El works diligently on a daily basis to build a foundation showing women the real side of life, and unselfishly sharing the agape love of Christ, in which she desired as a young child. Today, A New Woman Ministries has become a well-known women’s ministry across the world, blessing multitudes of women, and also men, in many different ways.
