1. Holy Communion will be distributed weekly outside, and in front of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Mobile, beginning this Sunday, May 10, 2020, a priest being available to do so between 10 and 11 a.m., and 12 noon and 1 p.m. In case of rain, distribution will be from the awning-covered side entrance, facing the parking lot.
2. Communicants are to avoid gathering with others and should maintain social distancing before, during and after receiving Holy Communion, departing immediately after reception of Holy Communion.
3. The priest will be wearing a mask while distributing Holy Communion as a safety measure for communicants in case he unknowingly is infected and is not symptomatic.
4. Neither the priest nor the communicant may wear gloves. If the priest inadvertently touches the hand of a communicant, he will stop to sanitize his hands before continuing.
5. Out of respect and concern for the health of others, please receive Holy Communion on the hand.
6. If possible, please watch the Mass of the day celebrated on-line or by television broadcast before or after receiving Holy Communion at the parish.
7. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is still being offered each Saturday evening in the Church, behind the screen, from 4 p.m to 4:45 p.m., or by appointment on request.
Distribution of Holy Communion in this manner is not meant to serve as a worship service, but rather be a means of providing spiritual food for our journey in this life. All Catholics in good standing are welcome to participate.
