What a special weekend!! Saturday was Little Sisters of the Poor Day in honor of our 125th anniversary of being in Mobile! We had such a wonderful day with a mass of celebration and thanksgiving followed by a reception at Sacred Heart Residence. We want to thank Archbishop Rivituso, Archbishop Emeritus Rodi, all the priests and deacons who joined us to celebrate the mass, as well as all those who came to spend the day with us! It was a beautiful celebration, and we are so blessed to have such great support from the community!

An absolutely beautiful day! We are so grateful and truly blessed!

We were honored to be presented with a proclamation from the City of Mobile and Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis in honor of the 125th Anniversary of the Little Sisters of the Poor in Mobile. He even designated this Saturday, June 13th, as Little Sisters of the Poor Day in Mobile! We were given the proclamation by Chief of Operations James Barber at the City Council meeting this week. We are so grateful for all the support of the Mayor, City Council and the entire city! We look forward to another 125 years here!

Thank you to the Crawford Family for a wonderful afternoon of fun for our residents! The Crawford family sponsored an afternoon of Big Bucks Bingo in honor of their late mother Delphine, a former resident and Mardi Gras Queen at the Little Sisters, who would have celebrated her 100th birthday yesterday! In her honor, the entire family came and put on a spectacular bingo game with great prizes, refreshments, and spending the afternoon with the residents. It was an amazing afternoon and we are so grateful for their kindness!

Each week during our 125th anniversary year, we will be spotlighting one of the amazing individuals who helps make Sacred Heart Residence such a wonderful place. This week, we are putting the Staff Spotlight on our amazing Business Office Coordinator, Lyndsi Warden! In her role as Business Office Coordinator, Lyndsi supports the day-to-day administrative and financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, bookkeeping, compliance, and efficient office procedures. Her role is essential in maintaining smooth business functions while upholding the compassionate mission of serving the elderly poor. Lyndsi approaches each day with a positive attitude and whether it’s stepping in to support a co-worker, sharing knowledge, or simply offering encouragement, she is always ready to help those around her. We are blessed to have her at Sacred Heart Residence! Thank you, Lyndsi, for everything you do!
