We are so grateful to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Archbishop Rivituso's installation as Archbishop of Mobile. Today August 30 is the Feast Day of Saint Jeanne Jugan - foundress of the Little Sisters of the Poor. Saint Jeanne Jugan, pray for us, that we may recognize and serve Jesus in the elderly, the poor, and the forgotten. Pray also that many young women will respond generously to Christ’s call and continue the beautiful mission of the Little Sisters of the Poor. Amen

Today, we celebrate National Senior Citizens Day by honoring the wonderful residents of Little Sisters of the Poor and all the seniors who have shared their wisdom, faith, love, and stories with generations before us.

Our residents are more than just a part of our Home—they are at the heart of our community. Each one has a unique story, a lifetime of memories, and countless experiences that have helped shape the families, neighborhoods, and communities around them.

At Little Sisters of the Poor, we are blessed to walk alongside our residents, providing not only care, but friendship, companionship, dignity, and love. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from them, laugh with them, celebrate with them, and cherish the many moments we share together.

On this special day, we give thanks for our residents and for the incredible gift they are to all of us. Happy National Senior Citizens Day! May we always remember to honor, appreciate, and treasure the seniors who have given so much throughout their lives.

This week, we had a very special occasion at our Home as two of our Residents received the Sacraments. Ms. Mona Porter was baptized, confirmed, and received her First Holy Eucharist, while Ms. Lois Eastman was confirmed and received her First Holy Eucharist as well. What a beautiful blessing it was to witness these special moments of faith! We are so proud of Mona and Lois and grateful to share in their joy.
