Help us find our next Director of Christian Formation or Associate Pastor for Christian Formation! The GSPC session recently opened this search to better find the person God is calling to serve in our Christian Formation ministries.

There’s an update to the Government Street Presbyterian Church opening!

The role is now Director/ Associate Pastor of Christian Formation, with a focus on helping children, youth, families, and the whole congregation grow in faith and connection.

The 2026 fall session of Tuesday Lunch and Learn at GSPC begins today! Join us for lunch with the co-editors of Lagniappe, Rob Holbert and Ashley Trice. Lunch is served at noon and the presentation begins at 12:30 p.m. The cost os only $10, and that includes drinks and dessert. All are welcome.

This is the day that the Lord has made! Join us for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Rebekah Abel Lamar continues her sermon series, “I’m a Christian. Now What?” She will preach on Ephesians 4:1-6, 14-16 with a sermon on worship titled “Making Every Effort.” Music will be offered by Stephen Prager, guest organist, with special music by Gabrielle Mohr.

This is the day that the Lord has made. Join us for Sunday School and worship this morning. Sunday School classes for all ages begin at 9:30 a.m., and the worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Rebekah Abel Lamar will preach on Romans 12:1-8 with a sermon on worship titled “A Living Sacrifice.” Music will be led by Stephen Prager, guest organist, and the Sanctuary Choir, conducted by David Trent. We will have a congregational meeting at the end of worship to elect the Nominating Committee for this year.

We had such a special Blessing of the Backpacks on Sunday! The congregation sends love and prayers to all of our wonderful students as they begin a new school year.

This is the day that the Lord has made. Join us at 9:30 a.m. for Sunday School, followed by worship at 10:30 a.m. Kendall Dexter will begin a new adult Sunday School class, "Gospel Response 101," in the Multi-Purpose Room. The Rev. Rebekah Abel Lamar begins a new sermon series, “I’m a Christian. Now What?” She will preach on Philippians 3:7-14 with a sermon on discipleship titled “Pressing On Toward the Goal.” Music will be offered by Dr. Randall Sheets and the GSPC choir. Children are invited to participate in the Blessing of the Backpacks during the worship service.
