We are asking every church to urge their members to fast and pray over the next 24 hours for the healing of Ethan Blackwell. Ethan is the Youth Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church and the son of John Blackwell, Pastor of Restoration Church. Would you consider sending a message to your church members tonight or in the morning and opening your church’s doors and inviting people to come to the altar all day long to pray for the total healing of Ethan. Ethan has a very rare infection and we need the Lord to take the infection away and to stop his internal bleeding. Please use your Wednesday night prayer meeting for this purpose as well. This morning, we studied Hebrews 13:4 & 1 Corinthians 7:1-11 for the next sermon through our The Focused Family series — Purity in Marriage!

God calls us to guard our eyes, our minds, & our hearts, choosing to honor our spouse rather than searching for something new, different, or exciting. We must learn to see others through the eyes of Christ & remain grateful for the gift God has given us in our spouse! 💍

Marriage is worth protecting, & the consequences of a defiled marriage reach far beyond just one person. But even when we fall short, we can find hope in the truth that the Gospel is powerful enough to forgive & restore.

Let’s be intentional about honoring God in our marriages & pursuing purity in every area of our lives! ❤️

This week in our The Focused Family series, we looked at the power our words have in our marriages. 💬

Marriage isn’t about two perfect people—it’s about two imperfect people who are willing to love, serve, forgive, & continually point one another back to Christ!

1 Peter 2:21–3:7 reminds us that:

• Christ is our example.
• Unity is our goal.
• Selflessness is our model.

A good question to ask ourselves this week:
“Are my words helping my spouse become more like Christ, or are they tearing them down?”

Let’s be intentional with our words—not just because words matter, but because our marriages matter! 🫶🏼

This Sunday, we continued our The Focused Family series by looking at what it means to commit to God’s design for marriage! 💍

In Mark 10:1–12, Jesus points us back to God’s original design for marriage—something established in creation, rooted in becoming one flesh, & meant to be a lasting commitment.

Marriage isn’t simply a relationship we enter into—it’s a covenant we commit to honoring! 🤍

Our families are strengthened when we build them on God’s Word & pursue His design rather than our own!

“Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” — Mark 10:9
