Christian Medical Ministry of South Alabama

CMMSA is an official student chapter of the national organization: Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA).

Christian Medical Ministry exists to glorify God by training a new generation of health-care providers to bring the healing of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. CMMSA is a discipleship-based interdenominational ministry focusing on sharing the good news of Jesus to students at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, establishing new believers in the faith and equipping believers to bring the gospel to the world through health-care.

Hey guys, our staff and student leadership team have started a weekly prayer meeting at the med school. We’d love for this to be a time where we grow deeper in our connection with God and with one another, asking Him to be at work in our studies, relationships, and future vocations.

The time would consist of a brief, student-led devotional before dividing up in groups of 3 - 5 to pray. We’d love to have y’all join us next Wednesday morning, 9/17 at 7:15!

“This was my first time going on a medical mission trip and I’m really thankful I got the opportunity to do so!

One of the most encouraging parts of the trip was when we attended a local church and had the opportunity to worship alongside other believers there. It was a great reminder that there are people all over the world worshipping the same God and it was a cool experience to do so in a different language!

It was also very encouraging to work alongside other health professionals to learn more about what they do, as well as learn more about occupational therapy. I loved getting a chance to implement what I had been learning in class to serve the people we met!

The organization we partnered with in the Dominican Republic is amazing in that they take all sorts of different groups whether it be what we did, veterinary students, or baseball players and use them to spread the gospel!”

Hey everyone, we are so excited for the upcoming CMMSA Winter Retreat January 13-15th!!!

This retreat has been a highlight for those involved with the ministry for the past decade, and we're excited to gather again for a weekend with students and families for the first time since Covid!

We'll have a couple speakers but the keynote this year will be Dr John Patrick.

Registration is $65 & includes everything: room, meals, speakers, materials!
