Prayer of Confession:
God, we confess that we have failed to grasp the realities of Heaven because we’ve been too busy grasping the earthly things that lurk within us. We have advanced in our Christian walk, then reverted to the old nature. What sinful people we are, and how desperately we need your forgiveness. Cleanse us, O God, and know our hearts. Fin in us that desire that wants to be free from our sins and forgive us in Jesus name. Amen.
Assurance of Forgiveness:
If you are sincere and penitent in your petition, God has promised to forgive you. In Jesus Christ you are set free to live for Him.

Forgive us, O God, for our lack of faith. Forgive us for falling apart, when our world falls apart. Forgive us for resisting change in our lives. Forgive us for following our own paths instead of the ones You choose for us. We are such fickle creatures, on today and off tomorrow, running with You one day and running with the world the next. Call to Confession:
Come now, and lay your sins before God that He might wash you and make you as white as snow.

Prayer of Confession:
We confess our reluctance to step out of our boxes of protection and take the risks that You call us to. We desire comfort and not challenge, ease and not discomfort, pain release and not pain, easy lessons and not hard ones. We want things but hate sacrifice, we have sinned against our brothers and sisters, judged and criticized when we didn’t know their circumstances, condemned when we should have been forgiving and spoken when we should have been silent. O Father, forgive us and free us from our ugly mean ways. Jesus, Lord of Our lives, Holy Comforter, ever present, cleanse us. Make us over that we might be faithful and committed followers. Amen.

Call to Confession:
You are invited to confess openly to God your transgressions, so that your barriers and walls might be forgiven and your heart may be clean.

Prayer of Confession:
God, there have been so many wrong decisions, so many times of failure, so much pain and guilt. When we could have listened to you and done good things, we chose to go off on our own and leave you out of our decisions. Those wrong acts and thoughts would have been the end of us except for Your wonderful grace. We have sought the world’s offerings to our own detriment. We have tried to make ourselves look good instead of holding up the Your banner. We have , in deciding to further our own interests, chosen to ignore Your urgings and callings. Forgive us, we pray, before it is too late, so that we might be attuned to your divine will and purpose. Amen

Hymn Worthy of Worship

Affirmation of Faith Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. ** catholic (with a small “c”) means “universal”

Call to Confession:
When we are lonely or discouraged, through confession Christ sets us free. God hears us when we pray and sets us free. Let us now bow and confess our sins silently. Then, with our voices joined, we will confess together.

Prayer of Confession:
O God, we confess that we have often not acknowledged You as the source of our successes, our substance, our lives. We have been far more ready to complain when things go wrong than to praise when all is well. We have fed our bodies a rich diet while neglecting food for the soul. The world has taken on greater importance to us than sensitivity and service. We have allowed religious words and forms to be substitutes for living encounters with those You have called us to love.
Forgive us, compassionate Lord, and grant us the opportunity to start over. Keep us from making the same old mistakes over and over. In the name of Christ we offer our prayer. Amen

Assurance of Pardon:
God hears our cries and forgives all who are repentant. When we trust God we will not be disappointed. We stand forgiven, accepted and loved. Praise be to God.

Call to confession:
Come from your various places. Come from your pain and uncertainty. Come from your lazy Christianity and forgotten vows. Now before the Lord, your maker, pour out your sins and feel the refreshment of forgiveness.

Prayer of Confession:
God, you know how I have acted uppity in my pretentious life when all the while You saw straight through my soul. You know I have sinned against my neighbor and You by ignoring, raising my nose in the air and saying malicious things. I am so sorry for all the times I have put forth the image of being a Christian yet in my heart I knew I did not have clean hands and a pure heart. I am sorry for all the times I’ve acted more like Satan’s child than yours. Can you wash my heart again O God and let me stand before you with a new heart? Amen.

Call to confession:
If, in your heart, you know you have sinned, now is the time to confess your sin privately and then join with other worshippers for God wants to hear our penitence and extend His forgiveness.

Prayer of Confession:
God, have mercy, hear our prayers, hear our cries for mercy and forgiveness for we have sinned in desiring Your overlooking our sin while we hold onto old grudges against those who have wronged us. We pass by on the other side when we see people who need us. We say hateful things and think mean thoughts. We ask for your help while ignoring Your Word. We are wretched, unforgiving people who think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think. In Your mercy forgive us and send us out to sin no more. In the name of our Redeemer. Amen.

Prayer of Confession:
God, we confess our sins, outward and obvious sins and the secret sins we hide from others but can never hide from You. We have not completely observed the golden rule and sometimes we have not returned good for evil, nor have we always been kind and forgiving. Too often we have called ourselves Christians but we have failed to show the world how Christians are supposed to behave.
