"And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord." Ephesians 6:4
Years ago, a little boy asked his dad, "How much do you make an hour?" The man, who wasn't in a good mood, snapped at his son and told him it was none of his business. The boy persisted, and finally the man said, " I make twenty dollars an hour. There, now. Are you satisfied?" After the boy went to his room, the father began to feel guilty. He tapped on his son's door and asked to come in. When he did so, the boy reached under his pillow and gave his dad twenty, one -dollar bills, which he had been saving. Looking up to his father, he said, "I'd like to buy an hour of your time."
Oh, how our children need an hour of our time. In the busyness of life, it's easy to neglect each other--husbands, and wives, parents and children.
Father's Day is a good opportunity to give one another the best gift of all--our presence, our attention, our time. Even if you can't be present in person, how about an old-fashioned, handwritten letter? Whatever it takes, spend time with those you love the most!!!
