Missions Matter at Grace Lutheran Church!

Over the past several months, our Grace Lutheran Church family has been blessed with opportunities to serve our community in many different ways, and we are grateful for everyone who has shared their time, talents, prayers, and generosity.

Through our Basket of Blessings ministry, we collected and assembled gift baskets for Penelope House helping support individuals and families in need of safety, protection, and encouragement. Thank you to everyone who donated items, helped assemble baskets, and shared Christ's love through this outreach.

We also partnered with Mobile County Animal Services through our PAWS for a Cause collection drive, gathering much-needed supplies for animals awaiting care and forever homes. Your donations helped provide comfort and support for these animals while assisting the dedicated staff and volunteers who care for them every day.

In addition, our congregation continues to support the Sounding Joy Church" Carillon Project. Through donations collected in our little church steeple collection box, we are working toward a new carillon music system that will allow Grace Lutheran to share uplifting music with our neighborhood for years to come.

These ministries remind us that mission work takes many forms. Whether supporting families, caring for animals, or using music to share joy, every act of kindness reflects God's love in our community.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in these outreach efforts. Together, we are making a difference and living out Christ's call to serve others.

It shall always be, while God is willing, that we are strong enough, brave enough, and wise enough to cherish our freedom and blessings. COMPARED to other countries, we really don’t know starvation, we don’t know thirst, we don’t cut fingers off for stealing a loaf of bread, and as for people we may disagree with, we don’t throw them off of buildings. We can worship tomorrow morning with no state interference or restrictions. No wonder the Saxon Lutherans came from Germany to America in 1839. We are not perfect and we hit some speed bumps but let’s continue striving for a more perfect union as intended.

Thank you to all who have served and defended these 250 years.

May God continue to help us as a nation to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our Creator.

Happy 250th Birthday, United States of America! 🇺🇸

(Remember: God created you with 10 fingers; cherish them all!)

Grace Lutheran is excited to announce the launch of Abide, a new 4-week youth night pilot program that started on May 3.

We know that between school, sports, and life, schedules are incredibly busy and students are often running on empty. Abide is designed to be a completely different kind of youth group
experience. Instead of a traditional classroom setting, we are meeting at the Espejo House across the street from the church for a relaxed, living-room-style night focused on authentic connection, rest, and community, centered around the message of the Vine and the Branches from John 15.

Here are the details for the 4-week pilot:
Dates: May 3, May 17, May 24, and May 31
Time: 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Location: The Espejo House (120 Espejo St, Mobile, AL 36604, across the
street from the church)
Ages: 14-18

What to expect: Every night will kick off at 6:00 PM with free dinner (including Foosackley's, Little Caesars pizza, Jimmy John's, and Chipotle taco bar on our final night!), followed by some fun group games like Catch Phrase to break the ice. We will then transition into a short, 15-minute conversational teaching and break out into relaxed living-room discussions. The goal of this pilot is to create a safe space where students can just breathe, hang out, and grow together without any pressure.
