‭‭I Timothy 6:6-16 NKJV‬‬
[6] Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

[7] For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

[8] And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

[9] But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

[10] For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

[11] But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

[12] Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

[13] I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

[14] that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing,

[15] which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords,

[16] who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

I have noticed lately people saying or posting that money is the root of all evil. What is interesting to me is that they remove the phrase "the love of" from the scripture that they refer to.

This is a long portion of scripture which is not a bad thing but I do realize people lose interest in reading lengthy posts however I think if you read it and meditate on it you will gain some useful wealth in spiritual knowledge.

I can see how people interpret that particular scripture that way. They think it is literally money that is evil. The context of it however is talking about being content, trusting God and having faith in His ability and willingness to take care of us in all situations.

It does talk about the temptation to lose focus and become obsessed with getting rich. It is a warning to us because our focus should always be on eternity and spiritual things, not earthly. I have seen people become so focused on getting rich that they no longer have time to pursue the kingdom of God. It is really no different than the alcoholic, drug addict or anything people become addicted to and obsessed with.

The point is that money itself is not evil but it is the ungodly lust for and love of it that is evil. We have to have money in our society to survive, pay bills and it helps us to be comfortable. We also need it so we can bless others who are in need. The problem comes when we get so caught up in the pursuit that we don't think about other people in need and especially the Kingdom of God.

Living a life in Christ is a continuous focus we should have. If we seek money and things first then we put God and His kingdom second or even last and that is the opposite of what Jesus instructed us to do.

‭‭Matthew 6:33 NKJV‬‬
[33] But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

It takes money to send missionaries to preach the gospel. It takes money to pay a Pastor so he can be free to take care of the business of the church, to visit people in hospitals, to perform weddings, funerals and so forth. It takes money to pay the electric bill in churches. There are so many things that churches need money for that are needed for teaching, preaching, helping the poor and needy, and so many other things I could write a book on.

My point is, money in itself is not a root of evil because it is a much needed tool to survive and to get the gospel out. Unfortunately people may obtain so much wealth that they hoard it up and never use it to help others or as a tool to spread the gospel of Jesus.

Another point I want to make is that there is nothing more important in this world than the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is nothing more important than the kingdom of God. There is nothing more important than making sure our passion is focused on the gospel and the kingdom.

If we do those things and do as Jesus said, "seek first the Kingdom of God" then we have His assurance that all these other things will be added to us, yes even in this life.

There are many things a person can allow to distract them, not just money. Search your own life and see what you may be allowing to keep you distracted from God and His kingdom.

Blessings to you all on this wonderful and beautiful Monday, and may the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!

‭‭Isaiah 10:1-3 NKJV‬‬
[1] “Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed [2] To rob the needy of justice, And to take what is right from the poor of My people, That widows may be their prey, And that they may rob the fatherless. [3] What will you do in the day of punishment, And in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory?

A good brother and friend (Josh) sent me this scripture yesterday. It caught my attention because I have been thinking about how God told us that the power of life and death are in the tongue.

I know this scripture is directed towards the evil and wicked people who have placed themselves in positions of power. It is a direct rebuke and warning to them. As I was thinking about it I began to think about something else.

I began to think about the things that come out of our mouths concerning others. God said also that he has put before us life and death. It is a choice He gave us. He even went a step farther and told us to choose life, maybe because we can be that dumb and choose death.

How do we choose life? The power is in the tongue. I have thought about the many times in my own life that words of death have come out of my mouth towards others who have needs. Words of doubt and unbelief have easily flowed from my mouth.

The words we speak are decrees. The things we write on social media about others are sometimes misfortune as it says in the above scripture.

I don't know about you but I want to decree righteous decrees and write good fortune towards others who are in need and poor in areas. You may think that your words don't hold power but the truth is that you were created in the image of a Holy God who spoke the universe into existence.

When you speak in agreement even with sickness and disease towards those who are battling with those things then you are taking away their right to the divine healing Jesus purchased for them to have. It is their right to receive healing. It has been paid in full! Decree it for them! By His stripes they were healed.

The point I am making is to pay attention to what you speak and write.

You all have a wonderful and blessed Tuesday!

Happy Saturday to everyone!

I love the scriptures below because Jesus gives us some good insight into His identity and also insight on His intentions of giving us a new identity.

‭‭Luke 10:17-24 NKJV‬‬
[17] Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” [18] And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. [19] Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

[20] Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” [21] In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

[22] All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

[23] Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see; [24] for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”

I love to read that part about how He saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. He saw the joy and excitement that the seventy had because they found out that the demons were subject to them because of Jesus name.

Jesus gives us the reality here that Satan himself is nothing compared to Him. He then delegates authority to them over all the power of the enemy. We also are instructed about who the enemy really is.

Jesus then tells them not to rejoice because spirits are subject to them. The important thing we should all rejoice about is that our names are written down in heaven.

Think about this. Satan was cast down from heaven and because of Jesus we are being elevated up to heaven.

Jesus gets excited and rejoices in the Spirit. I would loved to have witnessed that. He was so excited that He burst into a prayer of thanksgiving to His Father in that very same hour.

Then we get to see that everything has been delivered to Him by the Father Himself. He then reveals to His disciples just how blessed they are because their eyes get to see what those who longed to see from times past didn't get to see.

We are here today at the very time that God has chosen for us to live. We get to be here now for a reason and a purpose for our eyes to see. He has chosen us for such a time as this. Oh how blessed we are to be alive today.

May each of you have a wonderful and blessed day on this beautiful rainy day!

Here we are on this wonderful Friday morning. Yesterday evening the majority of the world witnessed a dark day in America. Without going into detail I think everyone reading this knows what I am referring to. We have been following the news and it is the biggest headline we see right now.

We really weren't taken by surprise by the decision that came. It may feel like a surprise but the reality is that from the moment they started going after President Trump, we all knew where their dark hunger would take them.

My point is that if we are not surprised then we know God is definitely not. The church has been praying for the evil to be exposed for a long time and I can say that those prayers are obviously being answered. People who can't stand President Trump are even seeing the unjust persecution of this man and are casting their support for him and are leaving a political party they have been a part of all their lives.

It's truly an amazing time we live in. We see the darkness but we see the things that have been hidden in the darkness coming to light. These are truly exciting times we live in as a child of God.

Let me leave with you this morning this scripture below for you to meditate on and be encouraged by. God is on the throne and His Word will always prevail.

‭‭Luke 8:16-18 NKJV‬‬
[16] “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. [17] For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. [18] Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.”

Look at that! Meditate on it. "Take head how you hear". Be encouraged today and continue to pray and see what the Lord will do because he is faithful and loves His church.

Be blessed and have an awesome day!

I love the historical account of the rich young ruler recorded by Mark below. This wealthy man was so under conviction and just wanted to know how he could inherit eternal life. He ran and knelt Mark said. That's how concerned he was.

I want you to read the account yourself because you see the display of love that Jesus has for this young man. Jesus looked at him and loved him mark says. Yes he went away sad. Yes the disciples were so astonished thinking no one could be saved if what Jesus said was true.

Jesus finally gets his point across to them though. Gods love is so great that even though it is impossible for man to achieve this level of unselfishness, the point is that with God all things are possible. Oh but His love!

God so loved the world that He gave! John 3:16.

Be blessed on this awesome Thursday!

‭‭Mark 10:17-27 NKJV‬‬
[17] Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” [18] So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. [19] You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ” [20] And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” [21] Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” [22] But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. [23] Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” [24] And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! [25] It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” [26] And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?” [27] But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

Good morning on this wonderful Wednesday! I've been meditating on the Lord this morning and He took me to this scripture.

‭‭Revelation 12:12 NKJV‬‬
[12] Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

Each one of us are aware to some extent that darkness, yes gross darkness seems to be covering the earth. The spiritual battle seems to have greatly increased, especially since the end of 2019 and through 2020. We experienced a shift during the panic-demic.... that's what I like to call it. People were in panic mode.

There is a definite battle going on like I have never witnessed before in my lifetime. I can't deny it. It is real and most people don't understand it. The cool thing about it all for those of us who are following Jesus is that we have the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the instruction of scriptures.

As I meditate on this scripture I can't help but think that if the Devil is so full of wrath because he knows his time is short, then how much more should we as the children of God be excited to finish this battle because we know the time is short also. We also know we win every time no matter what it looks like.

We should be more zealous than the forces of darkness because we know some things too. Our knowledge comes from our God and He has spoken the final word and it is awesome for us, not so good for the devil though.

Be blessed everyone and have a great and victorious Wednesday!
