Selichot was our focus at Friday’s Shabbat service. In Hebrew, selichot translates to “forgiveness.” The sanctuary lights were dimmed, and “candles” were lit, creating an atmosphere of introspection, humility, and spirituality as we prepare for the High Holy Days.

This past Sunday the Temple Board, committee chair members, and Rabbi Lazar, attended a leadership training presentation, led by Glen Mutchnik and Gil Laden, at the Mobile Museum of Art. The Temple’s history, constitution, leadership dynamics, and vision for its future were explained and discussed. Thanks to president Dianna Kubat for organizing, and Glen and Gil for an inspiring session!

We enjoyed a special Shabbat this past Friday as we celebrated our congregational members who had anniversaries and birthdays in July and August. A special prayer was said for the couples (all who had been married over 60 years!) and the birthday honorees.
Afterwards, a delicious BBQ buffet was served in the Social Hall.
