Salt & Saddle Living is looking for Founding Advertising Partners.

This quarterly print publication is created for faith-filled rural and agricultural families. Those who are dedicated to hard work, stewardship, community, and a life rooted in Christ.

We’re especially interested in partnering with Kingdom-minded agricultural or ag-adjacent businesses that share these values.

Because we’re intentionally designing a clean, reader-focused publication, advertising space is limited and partnerships will be selected carefully.

Meet Dara Turner
She's a daughter of God, ranch wife, girl mom, cowgirl, and writer who resides in New Mexico.
In the first issue she features a story about an award-winning chuck wagon cooking couple.
Behind the scenes she's such an encouragement to the whole project with her participation and genuinely kind spirit, we are blessed to have her on the team!🥰

Farm and ranch life makes planning quite difficult. We love the life and also appreciate those who are understanding when plans don't go as planned due to the nature of this lifestyle.

Let's giggle together. Finish this sentence.

I have to cancel our plans because....

The pressure to be productive, the badge of honor in "busyness," the ever-shortening attention spans, the microwave society we live in, the increased speed limits - it all shouts the message HURRY UP.

All day long people are flooded with these messages, no wonder the rate of anxiety and depression are alarming. We weren't created to live like this.

I've fallen into the same traps myself and it doesn't serve us. Even though I feel like I've approached this project with snail speed (compared to other things I've put my hand to), God told me again this week "slow down."

I had planned to launch the website for pre-orders on the printed publication in June and while setting up the system I realize that's not going to work with the program I'm using. I was tempted to jump ahead and go another route, but God says "wait."

So, I suppose I'll wait. Thanks for your encouragement and patience in this process. The timeline is still set for you to get it in your hands in September. I promise it's worth waiting for

I was pulling w**ds and grass out from around the garden plants and I noticed a hefty pile of dead grass burs sitting on the surface. If you have ever dealt with grass burrs you know what kind of devil creature they are.

As I saw the seeds on the surface, it occurred to me that they are powerless on the surface; they can only grow and reproduce if they are allowed to take root.

This made me think about our thoughts - conscious, unconscious, deliberately thrown at us, subtly whispered in our ear. There are negative thoughts all around us, but they can only grow and reproduce if we allow them to take root.

Leave those devil seeds on the surface, unable to pe*****te the soil of your mind so that your life won't grow and reproduce those w**d. Tell them about the God you serve and the delicious fruit that is produced from knowing Him

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬
