Frank Stiver of Mitchell, NE, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026.
Frank’s Home-Going Celebration will be Saturday, June 6th from 10:00-11:00 at Federated Church, 1451 Center Ave, Mitchell, NE 69357. Fellowship lunch following 11:00-12:00.
Frank was born on August 27th, 1931, at his grandmother Ethel Adams’ home in Mitchell. He was the son of H. Ward Stiver and Nellie Mae Adams.
Frank worked various jobs and then became a telegrapher for CB&Q, now BNSF Railroad, at Torrington and Guernsey, WY. On April 12th, 1952, he enlisted in the USAF. He was an instructor in ground radio until March 1955, when he was deployed to Alaska. Frank returned to the railroad in March 1956. Then, in August 1957, he entered barber college in San Diego, CA. He barbered for 43-1/2 years, 37-1/2 of which were in Mitchell.
Frank loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He loved nature. His hobbies included making craft items such as benches, chairs, bird houses, feeders, and more.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Henry, Keith, and Allen; sisters Linda Lorraine and Patricia Glade; wives Peggy Ilene and Edith Lavern; and a son, Douglas Frank (1950).
Frank is survived by his brother Dale of Aurora, CO; Dale’s son Douglas Ward of CA; nephew Kenney and niece Elaine of Mitchell; Kenny’s son Justin of Cozad; Elaine’s son Daniel of Mitchell, and daughter Brenda of Gering.
Frank was married to Barbara Feidler and later divorced. A son, Douglas Frank, was born and lived for two months. He married Peggy Ilene Casson on December 9, 1956. She passed on December 9th, 2012. No children. Frank married Edith Laverne Carmichael on November 3rd, 2013. She went home to be with the Lord on August 31st, 2020. She was laid to rest at Lanette, AL, her hometown.
