St. Francis Xavier Church

St. Francis Xavier Church Missoula, Montana's Jesuit Parish St. Francis Xavier Parish was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1873 and is still staffed by Jesuits and our lay colleagues.

The community has been in continuous existence since its founding and we are blessed by all the members of this vibrant place. While we honor and cherish our past, we are a parish that continues to seek new ways to be more than just a Sunday respite. Francis Xavier has gained a reputation in Missoula for well-planned and well-executed Eucharistic liturgies, including beautiful liturgical music.

On June 11, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Bishop Vetter invites all of the faithful of the Diocese of Helena to take part in this special celebration as he joins with all of the bishops of the United States to consecrate the nation on June 11th at the bishop's Spring Plenary Assembly in Orlando.
