Oh what a great heartache! By now almost everybody has heard the very sad news that our good old †Deacon Bill Castaneda has gone to Heaven after a long and valiant struggle that inspired all of us!
He and his devoted wife, Adela, fell in love with our parish when they moved to Mission from Rosenberg years ago. She was always his “faith-ful” and loving “guardian angel” “in sickness and in health”! Her devotion was amazing and energizing! What a beautiful couple! What a man! With Adela’s encouragement he sure did keeponkeepinon even when it took an almost superhuman effort! We’re all sure going to miss him and we’ll always admire and be inspired by him!
As the Gospel reminds us today; all his goodness, nobility, kindness and generosity now blossoms and reaches its fullness in Heaven and grows in our hearts. He’s free now of all our human weaknesses and heartaches. He prays for and with us, cheering us on as we continue the great journey missing him, appreciating and loving him all the more and God still “lifts up our hearts” through the great heart of our †Deacon Bill! What a great man of God, husband, Daddy and Grandaddy, neighbor and friend!
