HOW COME…
For more than 130 years, millions of Christians from around the world have benefited from some excellent expository preaching because of a ministry that began in Keswick, England in 1875. Then, a Bible Convention was established to teach practical holiness of life, lived in the power of the Holy Spirit. The convention continues in Keswick, England, and many other cities around the world.
Some of us in South Florida have been significantly affected by the impact of this ministry. That was what inspired us to launch South Florida Keswick in 2002. The encouraging response to the inaugural service has further given us reason to believe that the time has come for us to host the convention annually. WHAT’S SO DIFFERENT…
For us, this convention must be committed to expository preaching. In other words, the messages must be shaped by the Scriptures. We are committed to the oneness we share as believers. For us, it is more a coming together of believers, as opposed to a coming together of churches. Historically, Keswick has been committed to creating a non-denominational forum for spiritual growth. We maintain that emphasis in South Florida. WHAT WE BELIEVE…
In more specific terms, South Florida Keswick is non-sectarian in that it does not represent any specific local church, denomination or ethnic group. Furthermore, Keswick does not carry any theological labels, in that it is neither reformed, dispensational, liberal, fundamentalist, or any such labels. Traditionally, although not limited to evangelical churches, South Florida Keswick is evangelical in its theological emphasis. Our Statement of Faith confirms our commitment to biblical truth. South Florida Keswick is guided by a committee of church leaders, currently under the chairmanship of Dr. Gerry Gallimore, a former Keswick Chairman from the Caribbean.
