’Twas the night before VBS and all through the church,
Not a leader was stirring, not even to search.
The art supplies had been gathered and set out with care,
In hopes that Metigoshe counselors soon would be there.

The Gaga Ball pit rested peaceful and bare,
Awaiting the games that tomorrow would share.
The paper-mâché rocket stood ready for flight,
To remind us God’s love reaches farther than sight.

With “God’s Love Is Out of This World” lifting us high,
And “Wear Love, Show Love” as our daily reply,
We’ll learn of Jesus in all that we do,
And share His great kindness in everything new.

Day 3 of Synod Assembly. As we vote to elect our new bishop, I invite you to pray: God of wisdom and grace, as the Synod Assembly votes for a new bishop, guide every heart with your Holy Spirit. Help them listen with humility, discern with faith, and trust that you are at work in the life of your church. Bless the candidates, the voting members, and all who serve this synod, that together we may follow Christ, proclaim the gospel, and care for your people with courage and love. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
