December 2022

Dear Friends

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We are grateful for this season of the year to thank those of you who have supported us with your prayers, greetings and/or financial giving toward our ministry. We appreciate it. We have distributed thousands of ABC Salvation & Life & Death Cards. They are being distributed on reservations this Holiday Season.

Our life has been busy over 55 years as US Missionaries. “Living the Call”, the title of our book, is available for purchase. The story in the book is about our ministry while living and pastoring on the reservation, raising our family there, adopting 3 native children (giving us quite a tribe of both blonde & native grandchildren) and about God’s faithfulness to meet our material needs. We tell the story of Mel’s miraculous healing when at death’s door and about the protection of angels!

We have had health issues to deal with this past year. It has slowed us down. Mel had tremors in his right hand and now has Parkinson’s. Please pray with us for God’s healing. However we are still kept busy with life, family, and ministry. We have two grandkids in college, one graduating from high school, several married giving us great grandkids and others with good jobs, great careers or still in school. We are thankful for our children & the homes in which they have raised their families!

We are in need of $6,000.00 to break even by the end of December. Thank you so much for your financial support and prayers. We are living in the last days of time. Jesus is coming soon! Be ready! God bless you and your families this Holiday Season & all year.

Summer 2022

Dear Friends

We appreciate connecting with you as friends & supporters of our ministry as US missionaries. Pastoring, living on the Reservation, conducting outreaches to reservations, building churches on the reservations and connecting with Native American pastors has been a lifelong calling!

Right now we request prayer for two Minnesota Native pastors who have cancer. Tim Brown has faithfully presented the gospel on the White Earth Reservation. Pray for him and his wife Tammy. Maynard LaVallie is in the Red Lake Indian Reservation area and also needs healing from cancer. Thank you for your prayers

We also are getting older! After 55 years of service some things begin to wear out! We continue to be active. But Mel is using a cane to stabilize his mobility as he is not able to walk as he would like. Corliss also is slowing down due to a heart condition. So pray for our health as we continue this present term as missionaries.

We thank the Lord that with your help and prayers we can continue to communicate with Native pastors about their needs and meet their requests as they are presented. Thank you again for your prayers and financial part in everything that God is doing! May God bless you!!!

Merry Chritmas! Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving as well. We are thankful for you, your prayers & for those of you who give financial to our ministry to US Missionaries.

This is our 54th year of our ministry. The Lord has been faithful to us. Our book "Living the Call" tells the story of early years of our ministry. It is available for purchase at your request and comes with a guarantee to make you laugh & cry!

Mel & I were talking about what we did after leaving the Fort Totten Reservation and pastoring there for 20 years. We felt God calling us to expand our ministry. Consequently Mel built 21 churches and 9 parsonages on Indian Reservations across the nation and remodeled several existing church buildings.

We held "Conquest" Training Camps for 12 years @ Lakewood Park Bible Camp. Young people from across the nation were then sent out in teams to 12 reservations at a time for ministry. "Human Videos' became an effective tool as for of their ministry! Mel & I travled preaching and presenting and facilitating our ministry

During this past year we have had to deal with health issues. Early in the summer Mel became ill. Our daughter Rhonda and I brought him to the ER where he saw a Christian doctor who attends our local home church. Medicaiton, physical exercise @ the "Y" & regular doctor's appointments ensued. We are thankful for our supportive family.

Due to health challenges & 'Covid' much of our ministry has become virtual! We are still kept busy with life, family and ministry. The Lord cares about our lives even as we begin feeling our age and get slower. God still has work for us to do!

We are blessed this fall. We have been able to bless several minisries on reservations. Thank you for your help making that possible! We will be able to complete this year in the black with your financial help.

Thank you for your prayers, communications and financial support. God bless you and your families at this Christmas time and throughtout the New Year!

Dear Friends

Thank you for your support and prayers. We are starting our 55th year as US Missionaries to the Native Americans this summer. Working with the people who were here first in America has been an interesting, rewarding and sometimes heartbreaking life. At times we have asked God, “Are you sure you called us?” But we know He has because He has always been in control providing, protecting and prospering us for 54 years; making today the same as when we were living and working on the reservation.

As we get older some things do begin to change. Mel was very sick in May spending some time in the Emergency Room at Trinity Hospital in Minot. He has had an extensive physical work-up and was referred to a neurologist in regard to the tremors he has. He is adjusting to new medications and seeing improvement. Please continue to pray for us and for Mel’s physical healing.

Our phone often rings with questions regarding the way to do this or that...or can you help us in this situation? As we ask the Lord for His Direction and Supply He never lets us down. We have had many Faithful Supporters throughout the years! One of our very faithful supporters and a good friend, Marvin Pfenning, passed away in May. He had a passion for Native American Ministry and worked with us on many building projects in the past. Though we miss him we know he is with the Lord rejoicing together with his wife reaping the rewards of a life well lived.

As communication and requests from our Native pastors come to us we thank the Lord as US missionaries that with your help we can meet their requests for literature, Bibles, tools, finances or many other things. Thank You for your Prayers and your part in everything that God is doing! May God Bless You!!!
