Tawfiq Islamic Center (TIC) is a religious, educational and charitable nonprofit organization registered in Minnesota under chapter 317A. It is a nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization established to serve the Muslims and other peoples living in Minnesota


Historical Background
The Oromo people are the largest ethnic group in Ethiopia and they are believed to be the s

econd largest group in Africa. The Oromo people account for more than 40% of the 60 million total population of Ethiopia. Some members of the Oromo Muslims, who arrived in Minnesota in early 1990s, felt the need to maintain their cultural identity & heritage. Finally, after many efforts, the community bought Masjidu Tawfiq in 2004. Since 2006, Masjid Tawfiq is known as Tawfiq Islamic Center, and in 2007 it became a Faith-Based organization with 501 c (3) IRS Compliant.

Alhamdulillah, the Summer Quran and Islamic Studies Intensive Courses at Tawfiq Islamic Center have now ended.

Mashaa’Allah, in just two months, our students learned a great deal, including Oneness of Allah (Tawhid), Fiqhul Ibadah, Seerah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and Islamic manners.

Mashaa’Allah, some students completed the Arabic Reading (Green Book), which prepares them to read the Quran. Some students also finished Quran memorization and received certificates. Others who completed reading with looking were also awarded certificates.

Alhamdulillah, every student who attended the summer program received a certificate. May Allah reward them and bless their parents, and may He increase them in knowledge and barakah. آمين.
