On Wednesday night, the week-long exploration of “Belonging: 5 Keys to Unlock Your Potential as a Disciple” by Karoline Lewis kicked off as the Summer Adult Book Study began. You’re invited to be a part of Central’s summer learning and prayer life. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary to join this great exploration and discovery of the story of the Samaritan Woman. The group will meet again (in-person only) on Sunday, June 14, at 9:30 a.m. and a final time (in-person or on Zoom) on Wednesday, June 17, at 6 p.m. Books are available for $15 at the Welcome Desk.

Last Thursday, the Young Adults headed out to see the Minnesota Twins take on the Kansas City Royals. Even though the home team lost, we had a blast together and enjoyed celebrating Prince Night (a Minnesota favorite). The Young Adults are looking forward to more opportunities to get together for fun and fellowship this summer, so keep your eyes open for more opportunities if you are part of the 20-or-30 something crowd.

On Thursday, we were blessed to host the Chorus America Choir Concert. The National Lutheran Choir, Border CrosSing, and The Singers – Minnesota Choral Artists were all selected as featured performing ensembles, with each choir performing a 25-minute set. It was a great night of incredible choral music. Thank you to all the Central volunteers and staff who make events like these possible!

Thanks to the Central Cares for Creation (C3) team, volunteers, and the friends of Triangle Park for all the help last Saturday working in the pollinator garden. We saved a few species that were already in the park (about 95), then Lans took a w**d whacker to the rest of the w**ds, and we had a team of 20 help us spread cardboard and covered it in 22 cubic yards of compost and mulch. We finished in about 4 hours and were so grateful to all the hardworking helpers!! The next effort to spread cardboard, compost, and mulch will be on Saturday, June 27.

On Sunday, we were honored to once again host the Luther Seminary Commencement ceremony, where 86 of the 92 students in five degree programs received their diplomas, with around 500 in attendance! Central has been hosting this ceremony for over 70 years, and so we celebrate this partnership and congratulate all the new graduates. Thank you to all the staff and volunteer hosts who are willing and able to serve for this joyous occasion.
