We were delighted to welcome the Zurah Brass Band to worship today for the second Sunday of Advent, as we consider the story of Esther's inspiration "for such a time as this", share communion, and sing Christmas carols to the rafters. As we join with Edina Morningside Community Church (EMC), this history of our combined churches is especially poignant. EMC was born from LHUCC. Now it seems, we may be like a mother church finding care, love, and support from a daughter church. Pastor Oby and Rev Paula both extend a warm welcome to the full LHUCC community to worship this advent at 10am at 4201 Morningside Rd or by Zoom.

We offer deep gratitude to the members of the salvage team working at 4200 Upton: Connie, Paula, Mary, Steve, Sue, Mike, Wendy and Dave. Additional thanks is due to Lisa, Jim, and Pete and many others.

Thanks to this team many priceless artifacts found their way to new homes. All of the stained glass windows were removed and purchased by members, neighbors, a game room business, and an antiques shop. The piano was purchased purchased by someone who will cherish it. Historical records were transferred to EMC. Kitchen appliances will make good food for years to come.

A special word of thanks is also due to Andy S. He's a handyman that has experience in saving stained glass. He was generous with his time and patience as we scrambled to prioritize member and neighbor requests. With his help we salvaged all the stained glass, the altar, and other priceless pieces.
