Fall Pasta Fundraising Dinner at Minnehaha Food Shelf on Thursday, October 22.

Join us at our Fall Pasta Fundraising Dinner, which is taking place on Thursday, October 22nd. We're offering a pre-event price break: Purchase through October 16th, and tickets are $32; after that, tickets are $37 (children under age 5 eat free). Advance ticket purchase is required, so take advantage of the early-bird savings. Once again, we're fortunate to have neighborhood favorite Fat Lorenzo's providing the catering, and the evening will also include a prize drawing; purchase five tickets for $5 or 25 tickets for $20. We'll be gathering at New Branches (5011 31st Av. S., Minneapolis), which is home to three of our seven coalition congregations: Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church, Living Table United Church of Christ and Spirit Catholic Community. The Season of Creation starts this week

The season of creation started on Tuesday, September 1. This ecumenical celebration, which unites Christians in prayer and service in support of the Care of Creation, runs from the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on September 1 through the Feast of St. Francis on
October 4.

There will be a few changes in church to mark the season. A colorful seasonal banner with St. Francis will hang from the loft for the five weeks of the celebration. At the weekend Masses, we will recite a pledge of commitment to protect and heal God’s creation prior to the opening hymn. Music during the season will reflect our call to be stewards of creation.

After the 9:30 Mass and hospitality, we will pray an ecological Stations of the Cross over the course of three weeks: Sept. 13, Sept. 27, and Oct, 4. Each week we will walk a portion of the Way of the Cross in the church and engage in discussion and reflection. While we hope that people will be able to attend all three weeks to experience the fullness of the prayer, anyone is welcome to attend whichever weeks they are available.

Today Sunday, August 30 we celebrated with Sr. Doris Rauenhorst.
We had party after Mass in honor of Sr. Doris' Jubilee (70 years as a Dominican sister) and her long history at St. Albert the Great. It was a special day.

Our hearts remember

Today, August 27, we remember.

One year ago, our Annunciation community experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Today, our hearts remain with Harper Moyski and Fletcher Merkel, whose lives, light, and memory are forever part of Annunciation. We hold their families especially close in our prayers, along with all those who continue to carry the impact of that day.

Over the past year, we have grieved, prayed, gathered, supported one another, and continued the difficult work of healing. There is no single way to move through grief, and we know this day may hold many different emotions for members of our community.

We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary love and care that has surrounded Annunciation throughout this past year. Our families, parishioners, staff, neighbors, first responders, community partners, and people near and far have continued to walk alongside us in ways both seen and unseen.

Today, we make space to remember, to pray, and to be together as an Annunciation community. Our gatherings on campus today are private and intended for members of the Annunciation community. We invite our friends, neighbors, and the greater community to join us in remembrance from wherever you are through prayer and acts of service. Serve a neighbor, support a local organization, care for your community, or find another meaningful way to bring hope to others in honor of this day.

Those who wish to support Annunciation directly may give to our Hope & Healing Fund, found at www.annunciationmsp.org,which provides ongoing support and resources for our church and school, students and families, and those impacted by the events of August 27.

As we continue forward, we ask God to guide us in our continued healing, strengthen us in hope, and guide our feet into the way of peace.

Plan for Sunday, September 13!

On Sunday, September 13, we invite you to stay after 9:30 am Mass (or come back that morning if you attend on Saturday, or come early if you attend the Noon Mass) to take a "family photo" (like the one below from 1995) to demonstrate that we remain a vibrant community. We hope to get everyone quickly up into the sanctuary area for some photos from the loft.

Right after that will be the first of three segments of The Ecological Stations of the Cross which are part of our celebration of the Season of Creation through the month
of September. (See more below.)

AND it's a Donut Weekend! You might want to buy your donuts before the 9:30 Sunday Mass if you're planning to do the Station of the Cross after the photo. Donut sales after the 9:30 Mass will be delayed so the donut crew can join in the photo. They'll rush down to satisfy your donut desires as soon as the photo is done!
