Grounding in Faith with Pastor Elizabeth Macaulay

How long have you been planning your summer?

I ask because mine is all planned. Spaces have been made for camping trips and gatherings.

I am aware that I am very mindful of the precious gift of summer. Being mindful means that I see each day as gift and opportunity.

Perhaps my summer planning can teach me something about the value of mindful attention to possibility.

Here at church we are preparing for community parking lot parties, creating program and relationship building with children through Friday Fundays (sign your kids up—info in the link below in the Family Ministry section!), creating artist talks about the sacred power of water and women, setting off on mission trips with youth (20 people going!), readying for Boundary Waters trips, and offering a worship series that will feature lay witness every Sunday.

Each day is precious opportunity.

Give thanks. Live. Enjoy.

Saturday, June 13 | 8-10am | Fort Snelling Park

Join Christian mystic and nature enthusiast Rev. Roger Wolsey for spiritual experiences in the great outdoors this Saturday, June 13! Nature Church promotes experiencing nature as "church" and lets Creation speak. Guided 20 minute contemplative hikes will take place, mostly in silence, with a 25 minute contemplative sit. We talk about what we experienced and then hike back to our vehicles. Silence is not required on the hike back.

Join us at the Loring Park Neighborhood Party TONIGHT at 5:30pm!

Our neighborhood party is STILL ON! We hope to see you all shortly in our parking lot for FREE ice cream, live music, a bouncy house, and more for the kids! Various organizations will be tabling and we'll also have a food truck! We'll be here from 5:30-7:30pm—ALL are welcome and invited!

We hope to still have our Parking Lot Party TONIGHT!
Currently, it looks like the severe weather forecasted for today should have passed by 5:30pm. However, we will decide by 4:30pm if the event needs to be canceled due to weather concerns. Please check our social media or the event on the website for updates. We hope to see you!

JUNE 10 Parking Lot Party is STILL planned!
We know there may be some inclimate weather mid-day tomorrow. Currently, we are hoping all bad weather will have passed by 5:30pm! However, we will decide by 4:30pm on June 10 if the event needs to be canceled due to weather concerns.

We hope to see you tomorrow in our parking lot for FREE ice cream, live music, a bouncy house and a Fire Truck (based on availability) for the kids! Various organizations will be tabling and we'll also have a food truck.

Art Exhibition: Women and Water, Woven Portraits from Around the World by Mary Burns | May 20 - July 29

In many cultures, fiber arts are seen as a traditionally feminine craft. Creating these portraits through a woven medium reflects the often-underestimated power and importance of women’s work. Mary Burns is an award-winning fiber artist and master weaver. Her work has been shown internationally. Mary’s latest exhibit Women and Water: Woven Portraits from Around the World, features women who work with and for water across the globe. Mary’s Ancestral Women Exhibit features woven portraits of an elder from each of Wisconsin’s 12 Native tribes along with 12 complementary weavings.
