Back in the day I read a book. The book chronicled the beginnings of the 24/7 prayer movement. Incredible stories of life changing events surrounding a people dedicated to fervent prayer. Eventually I got mixed up in a group of people like this. Gathering together uniting in prayer deep in the heart of the inner city. I saw how dedication to prayer changed us as individuals and drew us together as family. I saw the hunger for prayer develop in us and I witnessed the hand of God move as we prayed. I witnessed firsthand not only the power of prayer but also its importance or actually the necessity of prayer.
I saw prayer in new light, with new life.
I think we are on the horizon of something. Times are changing. Do you see it?
I believe it’s time to unite in prayer. To discover prayer for all it is. To pray in new ways, in old ways silent whispers, ferocious shouts. Alone in our closets, corporately in a room filled with believers.
Whatever is coming over that horizon needs to be met with fervent prayer. Faced head on with faithful intercession, by bold prayers.
I want to do my part to encourage this movement of prayer. I am creative at heart and often find myself at the edge of the circles stretching and pressing out.
11eleven prayer is an attempt to spark interest and ideas when it comes to prayer. To unite our hearts as we seek the kingdom of God.
I’ve read of and witnessed the amazing things that have happened when believers join together and call out to our God. I am interested to see what could happen out the simple idea of 11elevn prayer.
At 11:11 AM we pray “Thy Kingdom come.”
At 11:11 PM we pray “Thy will be done.”
Imagine with me believers from all over both accidentally and intentionally coming across 11:11 and joining in a simple prayer ushering in the Kingdom.
Could be cool.
