Thanks to our supporters, The Salvation Army Northern Division is able to help people in Minnesota and North Dakota who face challenges large and small … even as small as securing a birthday cake.

Such was the case when a single mother came to one of our food shelves. She appeared to be very sad, and when our food shelf worker asked her why, the mother explained that she couldn’t afford to buy a cake for her daughter’s birthday today.

After hearing this news, the worker headed to a back room and dug through a pallet of donations received that morning from a local grocery store. The worker then discovered a big, beautiful birthday cake with the theme, “Happy Birthday, Princess!”

The worker gave the cake to the mother and she was overwhelmed with joy and happiness. She couldn’t wait to go home and celebrate with her daughter.

🍩 We were blessed to share a little love and appreciation with some of the people who serve our communities every day. This year, we visited the 2nd Precinct Police Station and the Saint Anthony Village Fire Department to thank our first responders for all they do. 🚓🚒

A special thank-you to Cub Foods at The Quarry for donating dozens of donuts and providing a generous discount on additional dozens. Your partnership helped make this day possible. 💙

On National Donut Day, we remember the Donut Lassies who served those who served. Today, we continue that tradition by honoring and encouraging the men and women who faithfully care for our communities.

🍩 Tuvimos la bendición de compartir un poco de cariño y agradecimiento con algunas de las personas que sirven a nuestras comunidades cada día. Este año visitamos la Estación de Policía del 2nd Precinct y el Departamento de Bomberos de Saint Anthony Village para agradecer a nuestros primeros respondedores por todo lo que hacen. 🚓🚒

🌊 As we look back on this weekend, we thank the Lord for such an incredible time at our Corps Retreat, “Streams of Mercy”.

We are deeply grateful for Majors Mauricio and Melisa Gutierrez, who, along with their two daughters, blessed our entire church family through the teaching of God’s Word and through the example of a family that overflows with mercy, grace, and love. 💙

Minneapolis Central is a beautiful family, and there is a place for you here too. We would love to welcome you.

🙏🏼 Please be in prayer for our church family as we spend a time of spiritual refreshment and renewal at our Streams of Mercy Retreat at Northwoods Camp.

We are grateful for this opportunity to step away from our routines, seek the Lord together, and be reminded of His faithfulness and mercy. 💙

A look back at a meaningful month across The Salvation Army Northern Division.

Throughout May, we shared stories of lives changed through God’s grace, celebrated the volunteers and supporters who make this mission possible, and continued investing in the next generation through Christ-centered music programs.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support The Salvation Army Northern Division and help us serve our communities across Minnesota and North Dakota. We’re looking forward to all that’s still ahead.
