In 1976, at the 65th General Convention in Minneapolis, The Episcopal Church adopted a resolution affirming that homosexual people are children of God with a full and equal claim upon the church’s love, acceptance, and pastoral concern and care.

Fifty years later, we return to Minneapolis to commemorate that milestone and reflect on the church’s ongoing journey toward LGBTQ+ inclusion.
Join us for “Full & Equal: 50 Years in Pursuit of a Promise” Together, we will celebrate the progress of the last half-century and renew our commitment to the work that remains, taking back to our dioceses tools for advocacy and archiving.

Join us in welcoming Preacher: The Rt. Rev. Gene Robinson Presider: The Most Rev. Sean Rowe

What a wonderful week of ECMN Family Camp!
This week, 15 families gathered at Water's Edge Ministries - formerly GLLM in New London, MN for a week of family-focused fun! Our campers enjoyed fishing, farming, swimming, singing, worship, and much, much more. Be on the lookout for more pictures from both camps this summer on our Flickr page soon!

"Letter from Youth Camp" - 2026

Dear friends in Christ,

I am writing to you from one of the cabins at ECMN Youth Camp 2026. We are just about half-way through our week of camp together, and time is flying by!

So far, we have: canoed, hiked, rock climbed, played games, studied scripture, worshipped, eaten "Dan Sandwiches", played kickball, whiffle ball, carpet ball... We have laughed until we cried, made many memories in the camp sun (and rain!), and experienced God's beloved community.

Our theme this week is "Gathered at the Table", and we are exploring themes of how to be welcoming and inclusive around tables, and looking for where God is continuing to break in.

What a delight it is to get to be part of forming disciples through outdoor ministry. This camp is a blessing; to the campers, to our faith communities, and to the diocese.

In a few weeks, we will upload a massive photo album on Flickr. Until then, know that we are here, safe, and having a blast!

Jesus loves you, drink lots of water.

Today is June 1st...
Which means we are just 3 weeks away from ECMN YOUTH CAMP!

This week is the last official week to register your rising 6-12th grade student(s) for an unforgettable week of "Camp Magic". The Youth Leadership Team and the adults who support them have gone above and beyond to ensure that this year's camp experience will be the best to date!

YOUTH CAMP REGISTRATION BLITZ!

One of the highlights of last summer was the Youth Camp registration blitz, and the subsequent results. As you might recall, the challenge that was issued (to inspire registration) was that if a certain number of students registered by a specific date, various camp leaders would be required to dye their hair for summer camp.
In 2025, the goals were:
20 Students - Anna Belz-Brock (Youth Camp Coordinator) dyes her hair pink
30 Students - I, Dan Miglets-Nelson would dye my hair blue
40 Students - Rt. Rev. Craig W. Loya dyes his hair purple

By the deadline we had set, Anna and Dan were to fall "victim" to this, and in good spirits showed up to camp with colorful hair.

Unfortunately, we did not hit the goal of 40 students by the deadline set for the Bishop to have to dye his hair. But, we did hit that number, just not by the date, so Bishop Loya, being a good sport, dawned on a bright purple, Anime-style wig for the final evening of camp. While it was not a true shade of "bishop purple,” it was indeed a sight to behold!

This summer, we are setting down a similar, and larger challenge.
ECMN Youth Camp Registration blitz is underway!

Here are the rewards (if met by June 7).
25 students - Gabby Bizal (Youth Camp Associate) will be pied in the face by one lucky camper, determined by lottery
40 students - Dan Miglets-Nelson, will be "duct-taped" to the wall as a part of camp
55 students - Anna Belz-Brock (Youth Camp Coordinator) will let students dye her hair as part of camp
(Bishop Loya is on sabbatical, and will therefore not be part of this year's challenge)

Registration is open now! Ample Scholarships are available. Sign up today!

ECMN is excited to announce the theme for ECMN Youth Camp 2026.

A team of dedicated Youth met last month to discuss many aspects of camp, and how to make it even better for both returning and new campers.

Between discussions of games, food, crafts, songs, and activities, students landed on the theme that will anchor us together during our week of camp.

The Youth Camp Youth Leadership Team are excited to introduce the theme: Gathered at the Table.

These youth believe that part of our commitment as Episcopal followers of Jesus is that we meet God, and one another, at Eucharist and when we share food with each other.

This summer, our youth will hear and explore more stories of what happens when God shows up and calls us to do the same around tables of all shapes and sizes.

We are now just over two weeks away from this awesome event, and there is still time to register.
Because it is so late in the school year, this event is open to 5th graders (who are ready for overnight, lock-in experiences), especially to help them make friends and get ready for Youth Camp this summer!

If you have any questions about Pre-YE, Youth Camp, or other ECMN Children & Youth Events, please contact Dan Miglets-Nelson.

Register for Pre-YE here: https://onrealm.org/ECMN/PublicRegistrations/Event?linkString=MGUxMjRkMWMtZWRjNC00YTljLThlMjEtYjM1MjAwZjA1ZTI4

We are just 30 days away from the next Pre-YE: Middle School Youth Event, which will be held at St. John the Evangelist in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

These retreats serve as a great "first step" into overnight, diocesan level programming, and are great for students who are new to ECMN faith communities, and their friends. Students who have been to others will know that the primary focus is on fellowship and fun, with lots of great food!

Participants will get to make friends with students from other churches and around the Diocese. This is also a great stepping-stone for ECMN Youth Camp, happening in June.

Pre-YE will be on April 25 & 26, and costs $50 to attend. Ample scholarships are available via the Brian N. Prior Youth Scholarship Fund, and no student will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Questions? Contact Dan Miglets-Nelson at [email protected] .
