After many heartfelt prayers and careful planning, we are excited to share our vision for this year. We want to become a vibrant and visible presence in our community. Recently, our neighborhood has faced numerous challenges, and we believe it's time to bring hope and positivity whenever possible. There will be plenty of other opportunities for everyone to get involved and give back. Still, we are especially excited to start with a Drum Corps Community extension that lets neighborhood kids join our drum corps.
We look forward to seeing our community come together and grow stronger with your prayers and support!
Program Overview:
The program will recruit 20–30 youth from the Whittier neighborhood and integrate them into the church’s established drum corps structure. With training instructors, mentors, family engagement activities, and community performances, the initiative will channel creative energy into growth, resilience, community, and spiritual connection.
Program Pillars:
1. Healing Through Rhythm, One Beat at a Time: Drumming supports emotional regulation and provides safe expression for trauma-affected youth.
2. Mentorship & Stability: Caring, trained volunteers including drum corps leaders will offer consistent support and guidance.
3. Community Connection: The initiative will deepen the church’s community engagement, building on the trust formed through the food and clothing ministry.
4. Spiritual & Personal Growth: Grounded in the church’s mission and the Pathfinder Club spirit, the program nurtures discipline, teamwork, confidence, and hope in Christ.
