God's love is for everyone! Help us share that message with our community by stopping by the tables in Westminster Commons over the next two Sundays to write messages of welcome, affirmation, and hope on rainbow ribbons. During Pride Weekend (June 27–28), these ribbons will be offered to those passing through our Lower Plaza as a colorful expression of our commitment to being an open and affirming congregation. 🌈

Westminster has a remarkable history. But what does faithfulness look like in a rapidly changing world—and what is God calling us to become next? This fall, we’ll begin a year-long strategic visioning process to help our congregation discern our future with clarity, courage, and hope. It’s an opportunity to listen deeply, dream boldly, and ensure that our time, resources, and energy are aligned with the mission we’re called to in this new season.

Read about what will guide this process—and how you can help shape Westminster’s next chapter: https://www.westminstermpls.org/strategicvisioning/

A three-week Adult Education series starts this Sunday at 9:15am in the Rec Room and via livestream: "Beyond the Newer Testament: Exploring Other Writings from the Church’s First Centuries."

Join the Rev. Dr. Matt Skinner, Scholar for Adult Education, to explore three distinct movements of the church’s early history: How did ancient Christians learn to worship? How did they navigate debates about what counts for “right beliefs” and how much diversity they could manage in their theology? And how did they respond to persecution and honor those who died from it? Join us!

In worship on Sunday, we had the joy of welcoming new members! Each person who joins our community brings a unique story, a set of gifts, and a willingness to grow in faith, friendship, and service alongside us.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Megan Brozenec, Robert Burdeshaw, Elena Cameron, Rebecca Hodges, Naomi Lopez, Judy Ozone, Joe Scala, Jonna Schreiber, and Ron Wahlberg. We are grateful they have chosen to make Westminster their church home, and we look forward to the many ways their presence and participation will enrich our shared life together.

One of our beloved annual traditions is back! Join us Wednesdays, May 27-June 24, as we gather in the open air to sing and give thanks for the gift of the season.

This relaxed midweek rhythm offers a chance to breathe deeply, connect with one another, and encounter God in the beauty of creation. After a hymn sing and worship, stay for a simple cookout and good conversation. Come as you are, bring a friend, and make space for faith, music, and community under the evening sky.

Westminster's Scholar for Adult Education, Rev. Dr. Matt Skinner, recently taught a four-part online adult education course, and the recordings are now available on our YouTube channel. The sessions focus on the different kinds of literature we find in the Bible and how we might approach them in a way that makes the Bible easier and more meaningful to read. Really interesting! Each year, Westminster has a summer book read! The 2026 book is "Stone Yard Devotional" by Charlotte Wood. Plan to join us Sundays, July 12, 19, and 26, at 9:15am in person or on Zoom, for small-group discussion of the book. Now is the time to order your copy!

Set in rural Australia during the COVID pandemic, the story unfolds quietly, narrated by a woman who has left behind a marriage and a career as an environmental activist to retreat to a remote convent in her childhood hometown. Untethered by faith, she grapples with her past and present within the setting of a religious community where she feels only partially at home. The narrator grapples with ways that human beings, in our brokenness, hurt ourselves and one another. But along with the narrator, we learn that just as guilt, hurt, and despair can be part of life, so can atonement, forgiveness, and restoration.

This Thursday's Westminster Town Hall Forum features Violins of Hope, presented by the Minnesota JCC. Violins of Hope is a collection of over 70 restored string instruments played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust. These extraordinary violins carry a message of hope, resilience, resistance, and unity. The Forum will weave together their stories with music played on them, as we consider the role of story in defending human rights and dignity. All are welcome!
