Redeemer is a Lutheran congregation (ELCA) in the Harrison neighborhood of north Minneapolis committed to being a fully affirming and inclusive congregation where people of all ages, races, ethnicities, genders, orientations, and abilities are welcome to celebrate, participate in, receive, and share God's embrace. Our congregation’s deep impulse is toward a dynamic, impactful ministry through the development of authentic, transformational relationships and open doors with the surrounding community. As a “beacon of hope” in North Minneapolis, we worship and pray together as well as study scripture and provide a variety of activities and opportunities for ministry, including seasonal meditations, youth and children's activities, zoom fellowship, virtual worship, outdoor worship, and more…

In 1998, Redeemer formed the Redeemer Center for Life, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization as an extension of our ministry, with the partnership from our suburban partner congregations. A member of the North Minneapolis Harrison Neighborhood since 1909, Redeemer Lutheran Church seeks to be a faithful witness to the love of Jesus Christ for all people and strives to be a safe and caring space for area residents, especially children and youth. Redeemer’s church service on Sunday, Jan 25th will be held in the Living Room (1716 Glenwood Ave) 1/2 a block from the church. There will be no live streaming. Apologies for the inconvenience!

The boiler in the church broke down, and it is currently only 28 degrees in the sanctuary. The repair person is working on the boiler, but it is too cold to hold services in the sanctuary.

Update: Boiler is back on and no issues!

We at Redeemer Lutheran Church stand in unwavering solidarity with the immigrants of North Minneapolis and our greater community who are facing the trauma and fear caused by ICE raids. We cannot stand by silently while our neighbors are being violently taken and separated from their loved ones. This is in direct contradiction to Jesus’ teachings to love thy neighbor, and lend compassion to the stranger, the foreigner, and the marginalized. We are ALL beloved children of God.

Our immigrant neighbors are an essential part of our community, and they deserve to live without fear of separation or persecution. We call for an immediate end to these harmful raids and advocate for policies that protect the rights, dignity, and humanity of all individuals, regardless of their immigration status. Federal immigration enforcement activities are not welcome on our church property, and we commit to keeping our church building a sanctuary for all. Our fight for justice and compassion will continue until every person is safe and every voice is heard!

En la Iglesia Luterana Redeemer nos solidarizamos de manera firme e inquebrantable con las personas inmigrantes del Norte de Minneapolis y de toda nuestra comunidad que están enfrentando el trauma y el miedo causados por las redadas de ICE. No podemos permanecer en silencio mientras nuestros vecinos y vecinas son llevados violentamente y separados de sus seres queridos. Esto contradice directamente las enseñanzas de Jesús de amar al prójimo y de mostrar compasión hacia el desconocido, la extranjera y quienes han sido marginados. Todas y todos somos hijas e hijos amados de Dios.
