Contemporary Worship Leader Position
Needed - Redeemer Covenant Church in
Brooklyn Park!
Redeemer Covenant Church is seeking someone with a passionate spirit for worship who will plan songs and lead the worship team for its contemporary service on Sunday mornings.
Part time, up to 10 hours weekly, including weekly Thursday evening rehearsals 7pm, Sunday morning services 10am-12pm (soundcheck/worship begins at 11am), and attend bi-weekly staff meetings as needed/ required. $250-350/week depending on experience.
The Worship Leader will be joining God’s work at Redeemer by reaching, discipling and equipping people to courageously and authentically live out God’s Word in Brooklyn Park and beyond.

Redeemer offers two styles of worship - a traditional Sunday service with choir and organ, and a contemporary service with a worship band. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person services are currently being offered within the Minnesota Department of Health guidelines, including social distancing and mandatory mask wearing; we are also offering streaming services for those who are not able or comfortable to attend in person.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate for this Worship Leader position will have the following qualifications:
-Personal relationship with Jesus Christ
-Strong vocal presence and ability to lead musically from the guitar or keyboard
-Experience working with and leading worship bands
-Knowledge of contemporary worship songs and trends
-Willingness to work with a volunteer band representing a variety of skill levels
-Eagerness to provide worship experiences that will reflect and include the ethnicities and age groups in Redeemer’s congregation
-Experience with Planning Center Services, ProPresenter, and SongSelect by CCLI, in addition to Google Suite functions is preferred
-Willingness to periodically collaborate with the staff and musicians from the traditional service for combined services or special events
-Agreement with the Evangelical Covenant Church and its doctrine
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Select songs that coordinate with the weekly message, the season, and other elements of the service
-Recruit, schedule, and develop volunteer musicians for the worship team
-Lead weekly evening rehearsals, preparing music, charts, and AV tools in advance as needed
-Communicate and coordinate planning details with church staff as needed
-Communicate with the AV team regarding the audio/visual aspects of the contemporary worship service
-Cultivate an atmosphere of inclusion for musicians who are both seasoned and less experienced
-Create/oversee lyric slides for worship service
-Collaborate with related ministry teams as needed (ie. children and youth)
-Coordinate with guest musicians/artists as needed
