From Allyson P:

"I decided to join Kairos for a lot of reasons but I really wanted to spend a year of time set aside to just grow in my relationship with the Lord and to dig deep into the Bible. I knew there wasn't going to be any other time in my life where it was this easy to simply go and see how I grow and how deep-diving into Christian community changes me.

My biggest takeaway from Kairos has to be how my faith affects my relationships with others. I had to learn how to communicate in a new environment living with a host family and a roommate that I had never met before I was living with them. My constant surroundings in Christian community showed me how to approach others in love and how to listen to hear, not listen to respond. The prayerful conversations and prayerful silence deeply influenced me. I'm glad I got to be apart of it all."

From Rachel:

"I attended Kairos in 2005-2006.
I decided to do Kairos because I had just graduated high school and didn’t have an immediate plan for my future. I knew I was called to missions, and wanted to gain a greater understanding of God's word, and a deeper relationship with Him. Kairos seemed like a perfect next step.
My biggest takeaway from my Kairos year was a deeper relationship with Christ, and a greater understanding of who God is. Kairos helped build a foundation in my life of core beliefs and how to live as a disciple of His. Another pretty important takeaway from Kairos that has greatly affected my life was meeting my husband. 😜

I am grateful for the Kairos staff; Kevin Rusack, Drew Torres, and Erika Zimmerman sacrificed to pour into me. I often think of that season in my life and the impact they had in who I have become. Thank you for believing in me!"

From Hannah D:

-when did you attend Kairos: 2014-15
- What made you decide to join Kairos:
Kairos was a set aside time for me to focus and dig deep into learning how to lead in confidence with my faith and love for God in my church, career, relationships and the world.
- What was your biggest takeaway from your year:
To lead like Christ is to be a SERVANT leader and to have HUMILITY (a correct view of yourself in contrast to God and others.)

The more time that goes by since I was in Kairos the more relevant the lesson’s I learned there are. They become more and more real for me and I’m so grateful for that time and all the teachers that spoke truth and life into me. They expanded my passion for the LORD and his purpose for my life.

Blessings to Reign Ministries and all the lives they will touch in the future. ❤️"

From Alyssa S:

"Kairos was one of the most transformative seasons of my life. I have often found myself reflecting on concepts learned about my relationship with Christ and discipleship from the year I spent in Kairos Seattle. It was a moment in my life when I felt the Lord wrap His arms around me and prune pieces of my heart and soul to be more like Him. In a world that often tries to define everything for young people, it was so special to have a safe place to be challenged in my faith and to grow alongside others who were pursuing Him.
My host family, my discipleship leader, our staff, friends made, leadership trips, moments of “ebenezer’s” - it is impossible to put those 8 months into words but as I try, I just want to say thank you for pouring into formidable young people for the Gospel’s sake. As the years have rolled on by and this Kairos chapter closes, I am praying for ministries like this to rise up and train individuals to grasp confidently to their faith no matter what comes."

From Kaymi R:

"I attended Kairos as a student in 2006-2007. Then I stayed on as an intern and eventually Reign Staff until 2011.
Originally I found Kairos from my trip to Greece with Royal Servants. That trip opened my eyes to a world outside anything I’d ever experienced and completely changed my perspective. I decided on Kairos because I was looking for something different than just going to college straight out of high school. I wanted a space where I could grow in my faith, and it didn’t hurt that I loved the people with Reign Ministries and felt like I found others who were like-minded. To be honest the five years I was there have all melded in my mind so much that I can’t remember which specific lessons were from my student year vs the years on staff. But I learned so much about humility, identity, the Holy Spirit, intercession…oh man, so many things I still have as part of my life. And I LOVED that every week I was learning something new, or traveling, or ministering somewhere. It was always interesting and so much fun.
I’m just so grateful for Kairos and all I learned during that time…but more than that for the people who walked along side me as I grew in my walk with God. I came into the experience thinking I knew so much but the depth of understanding I was given and the realization there is so much more to learn was huge for me.
I’m sad to hear it’s ending but so thankful for the huge part it played in my life. "

From Katie L.

Kairos 2008-2009, it challenged me to grow in my faith and wrestle what I believed to make it my own. Between the book studies, speakers and teachers, opportunities to step out to lead and do ministry across the globe, public speaking to one on one discipleship. But the most impactful part of the year was the life on life community pursuing God and moving each other towards him in so many ways. I'm so grateful to Kevin, Erika, Kaymi, Jessica, Lexi, Kaleb, and the rest of the students with me that year that poured their time, love and laughter into me and changed me forever.

From Payton I.

"I joined Kairos right out of high school because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life, but I knew that I wanted it to be Christ centered.
My biggest takeaway was that it doesn’t matter what I choose for my life, but that I remain close to Christ in everything I choose.
Thank you Kairos for the set apart season I desperately needed. I learned so much confidence and independence in my relationship with Christ through the program."

From Molly L. "Kairos was life changing for me. When I say that I don’t mean it as a cliché. I mean it with heartfelt sincerity. I learned what Christ looks like. How Christ loves and forgives. How He calls us to take His story to the world.
I owe so much of who I am today to the people who made Kairos what it always will be, regardless of whether or not it still exists physically.
I am saddened by the end of its journey, but am so thankful for its lasting legacy and impact."

From K.C
"I attended Kairos 2009-2010. I decided to join Kairos because I wanted to grow in my walk with God, and I wasn’t quite ready to start a college journey yet. I was looking for something different but impactful.
My biggest takeaway was building relationships with people in a new capacity. I learned what it looked like to allow people to walk through life with you instead of trying to do it alone.

Thank you to Kevin and Erika who led kairos through countless trips, obstacles, and life trials. I’m so thankful I was able to spend a year in kairos, and I will truly always carry that time with me as a sweet season. A ten month season that brought a lifetime of impact. The season of Kairos may be over, but the impact will forever live on in countless lives. ❤️"

"Hi there! I'm Chelsea, and I attended Kairos from 2014-2015. I can honestly say that my experience with Kairos was incredible. Deciding to do Kairos was a no-brainer for me. After two summers on Royal Servants, I knew I wanted to spend a year after High School to focus on growing deeper in my relationship with God. And that's exactly what Kairos provided for me. I learned so much about myself and God's purpose in my life. But more importantly, I learned about perspective. As believers, we often think of missions as something that only certain Christians do, something radical and dangerous, and something that takes place far away from the safety of our home churches. But in reality, we are all called to live a life on mission, whether that's with our neighbors or in a far-flung country on the other side of the globe. Missions is simple: it is proclaiming Christ and making disciples. As Christians, we need to have the perspective that we are all called and are always on mission. Kairos has been such an incredible blessing in my life, and I am so grateful for Erica, Devon, and Neriah's leadership during my time there. They played an integral role in shaping me as a person, and I will forever be thankful for them."

Praise God and Amen! Thank you for sharing, Chelsea! ❤

I’ve shared before but I’ll take advantage of the perks of being in charge of the social media accounts, so I can share again.
The closing of Kairos has been a sad development for me as much as it is exciting to see how my role within Reign is changing. If you read our blog update, you would have heard some of my feelings regarding all the changes. But I wanted to share one more time the impact that Kairos had in my life. I have been and will forever be so thankful for that season. God used Kairos in tremendous ways in my life and I wouldn't be who I am or where I am today without it.

I recently came across some notes from my student year of Kairos. When I applied in October of 2013, I was unsure what the goals of my life would be. I had spent two “gap years” after high school trying to figure out what it was I wanted to do with my life. In my application I wrote, “At the moment, Kairos is my goal. I’m not sure yet what and where God has called me. I do know I’m called to ministry. I just don’t know if it is here at home or overseas, or both.” Now, it might have taken a little more time after Kairos ended for me in 2015, but now eight years later I’m sitting in the Reign office typing this update as staff. God had placed the spark in my heart all those years ago and I can thank Kairos for allowing me the space to be okay with the unknowns as I wandered and figured things out. I sit here today because of my time in Kairos. Although I’m saddened by the news, I’m at peace and fully confident of the Lord’s hand in all of this. I’m expectant to all that the Lord will do for all of Reign in the midst of so much change. God is up to something, that’s for sure.

So thank you, Kairos. Thank you for the friends I made that year. Thank you for the opportunity to travel to Honduras and Scotland and the Boundary Waters. Thank you for showing me how capable I was to try new and hard things. Thank you for introducing me to my host family who I still count as family all these years later. Thank you for showing me how to grow in my faith and how to share my faith with others.
Thanks for everything ❤
