2018 GOSPEL LEGENDS REUNION?

Hey folks, Tim Stutler here. I’m giving some thought to putting another Gospel Legends Reunion together for summer of 2018, but I need to be sure that folks will come out for the event. If you’re interested, please comment on this post and share with your Facebook friends. I’ll put it together if you will support it!

TO PREACH OR NOT TO PREACH-THAT IS THE QUESTION!

This is what I’m talking about! “Through the foolishness of preaching....”! I read a blog the other day from one of our great theological experts of several things pastors are doing to cause them to lose church members, and in one of his points he stated that preaching was outdated, and pastors should design their services for open dialogue with questions and answers. Where do these people come from? Why must we fall prey to the wiles of the devil, and try to satisfy the human side of man? Why must we continually try to make folks feel good about themselves? The only way that one can feel good about himself is to first feel Godly sorrow, and when one feels Godly sorrow, it leads to repentance, and repentance leads to Godly contentment. How is this accomplished? Through the kind of preaching that “cuts through the crap”! If you get mad at the preacher for preaching under the anointing, then I would say he has hit the proverbial nail on the head! I’ve been told by folks after hearing one of my sermons, “preacher, you stepped all over my toes today!”, and my response would be, “I wasn’t aiming for your toes!” As a preacher, I’m a heart surgeon, and your toes are irrelevant to me!

The great evangelists throughout time have not been easy for the sinner to listen to, but once the word of truth penetrates the heart of a sinner it has a way of breaking the heart.

Listen to this message and decide whether you want to unfriend me or say Amen!

NOW IS THE TIME!

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like the church has lost her way? Perhaps I have just become old and crotchety, but it seems like most church folks just have a desire to “feel good” from their church experience with no real depth to their commitment or spiritual growth. I’m all in favor of “come as you are”, but I certainly don’t agree with “stay as you are”. I can’t help but think about my parents who made a confession of faith together in 1948, and they never turned their backs on God or the church but remained faithful in their service to Christ and His church. We are in need of an honest to goodness, Holy Ghost revival where folks are transformed by the saving grace of Jesus Christ, hunger after righteousness, and are never satisfied with the”status quo” in their lives or the life of the church. Then, and only then, will the power of addiction, the threat of terrorism, the hatred of one another, broken homes, and every other sin be broken. Revival doesn’t come by some group thing or feeling good, but it must come by every individual seeking out his own salvation with fear and trembling. We who call ourselves Christians cannot continue to ride the fence, but we must choose who we will serve; Christ, or Satan. I’ve made my choice! Have you?
