What a joyous time at the One True God East Texas Camp. We celebrated with the angels as we had 7 baptisms. Did you catch that? 7, God's perfect number. It was refreshing to spend the weekend worshipping our Father and His true Son, Jesus and being one and united by their spirit.

After Jesus rose from the dead, He spent 40 days with His disciples showing Himself alive and speaking of things pertaining to the kingdom of God. (Acts 1:3) After the 40 days; (continuing with verse 9) And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Friends, let's be watchful. Jesus' return will be seen by all- no secret arrival, no deception. Every eye will see Him coming on the clouds. Stay grounded in faith, and keep your eyes on the signs.

Revelation 1:7 - Behold he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him Even so, Amen.

Begotten vs. Created: A Crucial Difference

To be begotten means to come out of something that already exists. The begotten shares the same essence as its origin. This idea appears in the natural world God created: for example, an eagle gives rise to an eaglet. The offspring is fully like the parent, sharing the same eagle nature. This is the principle that like produces like. On the other hand, to be created means to come into existence from something unrelated to the creator. For instance, when eagles gather twigs to build a nest, the nest is something they produce through their effort, but it doesn't share their life, blood, or essence. The nest is a creation, while the eaglet is begotten--sharing the same life and nature as the parent.

By using this precise language, God makes clear that Jesus is not a created being, like an angel or a human. Instead, He is truly the Son, begotten from the Father's own essence. He is fully divine, because He shares the same nature as the Father.

Often we're accused of lowering Jesus' status by emphasizing His role as Son. In fact, it's the opposite. By acknowledging Him as the only begotten, we actually elevate His divinity. We're affirming that He isn't just something made by God, but is the very offspring of God. The term "only begotten" (from the Greek word monogenes) serves as the ultimate testament to His divine nature. We hope that, as you reflect on this, you gain a fuller appreciation of who Jesus really is--the Son who shares the very nature of the Father.

The purposeful use of "only begotten" appears throughout the New Testament to anchor this truth:
John 1:14: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
John 1:18: "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."
John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:18: "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
1 John 4:9: "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him."

Many of the Adventist leaders like to point out that the Hebrew word, Elohim, used in the old testament of the bible for God, is a plural form of the word and thus signifies that God is made up of three persons.
I decided to ask google what the Hebrew word Elohim means. Here is the response:

The Hebrew word Elohim is a noun meaning "God" or "gods," and in a theological context, it often refers to the singular God of Israel as the most powerful, mighty, and majestic deity, despite its plural form. The word can also refer to other divine beings, such as angels, or to powerful humans like judges or rulers, (see Exodus 7:1 when this same word was used for Moses) and its meaning is often clarified by the singular verb used in the sentence.

Plural God or Gods:
The word is grammatically plural and can refer to multiple gods or deities, as in the commandment, "You shall have no other gods before me"

Singular God:
In Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth," the word Elohim is used with a singular verb, indicating it refers to the one singular God.

Majesty and Power:
When referring to the God of Israel, the plural form emphasizes God's supreme authority, power, and might.

Other Beings:
Elohim can also be used to refer to powerful figures or entities, such as angels or human judges. For example, in Psalms 82:1, Elohim refers to a "council of gods," or judges.

Look it up for yourself. Sometimes the truth really is that easy to find, you just have to want to know the truth.
