Procrastination does not always look rebellious.
Sometimes it looks reasonable.
“I’ll do it tomorrow.”
“I’m waiting on the right time.”
“After things calm down…”
“One day…”
But delayed obedience is still disobedience.
In Joshua 18, Israel had already crossed Jordan, fought battles, and entered the Promised Land. Still, seven tribes had not possessed their inheritance. The land was there. The promise was real. But they were procrastinating and seemed to have no plan to move forward.
That caused Joshua to ask a powerful question:
“How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?” — Joshua 18:3
