THE FATHER’S GOOD GIFTS (Matthew 7:7-11)🙏🏽❤️

Every answer God gives to our prayers is worth celebrating because He always acts for our good.

One of God’s most generous assurances to His children is found in today’s passage. Not only are we granted permission to come to the Father with our requests, but He also promises to answer our prayers.

However, you may be thinking, If this is true, why hasn’t He given me what I asked for?
The key to understanding this passage is verse 11: “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!” The God who made us is more keenly aware of our needs than we are (Matt. 6:8).

We may ask for what we perceive as good and necessary when it isn’t truly in our best interest. But our Father gives what He knows is more beneficial. The qualities of Christlike character are among His best gifts, and these develop through trials and testing.

When it seems the Lord isn’t answering your requests, remember that He’s a loving Father, and consider what good gifts He is giving instead. Although it may take years to gain a godly perspective, in time you’ll say, “Lord, You were right. Thank You for giving me exactly what I needed.”

The Stages of Our Christian Life (Philippians 1:5-7)🙏🏽❤️

God is patiently guiding us to release our old life and embrace who we are becoming in Christ.

Every Christian’s journey is unique. Yet certain stages of growth should be common to all of God’s children. For example:

👣 The Lord wants to teach new followers basic principles as a foundation on which to build. He expresses these truths through other believers, His Word, and things that happen in our life.

👣 God allows us to serve Him. Christians were created to do good works, and this becomes evident as we glorify Jesus (Eph. 2:10).

👣 The Lord lets us experience “frustrated inadequacy.” In other words, our Father brings us to the place where we realize we can achieve nothing of value without divine guidance and power.

👣 To make freedom a reality, the Father brings His children face-to-face with whatever holds them captive. God allows us to struggle through issues with His help. As we surrender to Him and seek His perspective, He works to liberate us.

👣 The Lord teaches us how to live the “exchanged life” (Gal. 2:20). Our sinful nature has been crucified with Christ, and the Savior’s life is expressed through us as we surrender to Him.

By reflecting on these stages, you may recognize where God is currently working in your life. He is patient and faithful in His work of transformation. Surrender to the Holy Spirit today, asking Him to continue shaping you into the likeness of Jesus.

THE EXALTED LORD (Revelation 1:9-18)

One day you'll see Christ exalted in glory, and you will join all heaven in worshipping the Lamb of God.

The book of Revelation contains some of the richest descriptions of our Lord that Scripture offers. We love imagining Him as the baby in the manger and recognize the importance of His death and resurrection, but the story doesn’t end there.

John was given a dramatic vision of the exalted Lord as He is now, in heaven. The apostle had shared intimate friendship with Christ on earth, but the sight of his Lord in this glorified state overwhelmed him—he fell at Jesus’ feet as though dead (Rev. 1:17).

Jesus is portrayed as the Lord of His church, which is represented by the seven lampstands surrounding Him. He protectively watches over them and calls them to faithfulness.

A few chapters later, Jesus is revealed as the Lamb of God. He is the One who sacrificed Himself on our behalf, His blood purchasing redemption for people from every tribe and nation, making them citizens of His kingdom. All heaven erupts into praise and worship (Rev. 5:6-13).

If you believe in Christ, these chapters describe your future. Picture yourself standing before Jesus, the exalted Lord of His church, and then joining all heaven in worshipping Him as the Lamb of God!

In the Fullness of Time (Galatians 4:4-5)🙏🏽❤️

God finishes what He starts, and His timing is never a moment too early or too late.

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit planned and created a beautiful heaven and earth. Yet even before Adam and Eve were formed, God knew sin would enter the world, causing us to be separated from Him. However, a plan for our redemption was already in place. In the fullness of time, the Son of God took on human flesh and dwelled among us to carry it out (Rom. 5:6).

The Lord doesn’t do anything haphazardly. Every plan of His is meticulously accomplished at just the right time.

And this truth doesn’t apply to just the big events in human history. He has a specific plan for every believer too. He ordained the day each of us would be born and has complete knowledge of what each moment of our life will hold. And just as He did when Christ was born, God will, in the fullness of time, execute each part of His will for our life.

He’s promised to work all things for our good when we love Him and are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28).

Are you trusting God’s plan for your life? The One with complete knowledge and wisdom knows what He’s doing. Have confidence in His timing, even when circumstances tempt you to rush ahead or give up hope. He is faithful to complete what He has begun, and He is never late.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER PARTNERS (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)🙏🏽❤️

The Lord doesn't expect us to fight our battles alone—be willing to accept or give help when needed.

Try holding your arms up in the air for as long as you can. No matter how strong you are, you’ll eventually find it impossible to keep them raised.
In Exodus 17:8-16, Moses was faithfully praying on a hill while his soldiers were below, fighting the Amalekites. As long as his arms were raised, the Israelites prevailed.

But he couldn’t maintain this posture on his own for very long. He needed Aaron and Hur to hold up his hands.

The Lord never expected Moses to do the job by himself. Nor does He expect such a thing of us—that isn’t how He operates. God has built His church in such a way that the world will recognize Christians by their love toward one another (John 13:35). We are ultimately dependent on God, but as believers, we’re likewise interdependent upon each other.

Everybody needs an Aaron and a Hur—people who can hold us and help us in our intercessions before the Lord.

Ask God to bring people into your life who can faithfully and lovingly lift you up in prayer without judging you or expecting anything in return. And ask the Lord to open your eyes to those around you who need an Aaron and a Hur in their life.

OVERCOMING DOUBT (Matthew 14:22-32)🙏🏽❤️

Faith isn't a feeling—it's a choice to trust God regardless of what you see.

God wants to do far more in believers’ lives and through their witness than many actually believe. That is, we know He can do great things, but we may not be sure He will do them for us.

Wavering between faith and doubt makes for a tired Christian. If we want our fears calmed, we must first decide to act out of obedience rather than make choices according to our feelings. Peter walked on water because he chose to proceed by trust instead of by reason.
Likewise, for our faith to strengthen, we must recognize that believing God is a choice.

A second action of a faithful believer is to concentrate on God. Otherwise, when we look at our circumstances, we’re restricted to our own limited view of the situation.

Peter’s feet stayed on the water’s surface as long as he was staring at Jesus. But the moment he focused on the wind’s violence, he began to sink.

Finally, a good way to maintain our focus on the Lord is by keeping our mind in the Word. Scripture will remind us of God’s faithfulness and help us overcome worries in those moments when it would be easy to lose sight of the truth.

Choose to believe that the Lord will work on your behalf (Isa. 64:4), and focus on Him. He will help you as He has promised—and will honor your steadfast faith.

WHY WE HESITATE TO TRUST (Luke 5:1-11)🙏🏽❤️

At times when God's instructions don't make sense, will you obey anyway?

Today’s passage takes place on the Sea of Galilee after the optimal time of the day for fishing has passed. The fishermen are cleaning their nets along the shore. But at Jesus’ request, one lowers his into the water. All of Peter’s expertise tells him that fishing at such an hour will be useless, but he does what Jesus asked. And the reward for his trust is a record-breaking (and net-breaking) catch.

As believers, we want to be like the disciple, overcoming our doubts and courageously following God. But sometimes, if what He’s asking of us seems unreasonable, we might rely on human logic to decide whether to trust Him. There could also be a tendency to hesitate in situations for which our knowledge or experience seems to contradict His plan.

There is a time for seeking knowledge and godly counsel, but when the Lord makes His will clear, we are meant to act (Ps. 119:60). No opinion matters except that of the Lord, who promises to always be working for our good (Rom. 8:28)—and who never makes mistakes.

The next time you find yourself doubting, think about what is causing you to hesitate. Then you can pray specifically to overcome the faith hurdle, knowing that God blesses the steps we take to follow Him.

WE ALL HAVE A BEAUTIFUL TESTIMONY (Psalm 126:1-6)🙏🏽❤️

When you faithfully share your testimony, God will use it to reach others.

We love inspiring stories. Biographies of those who make great use of a second chance tend to top bestseller lists. But few people experience something so dramatic. Most of us are wonderfully ordinary. Sadly, some believers think that being a “regular person” makes their testimony unexciting and less valuable. Nothing could be further from the truth.

A personal testimony is a way of expressing what God has done and is doing in our life. No matter how commonplace our words may seem compared to someone else’s, the Lord will see to it that they impact the hearers who need them.

Imagine this: A 6-year-old girl accepts Christ. As she grows, she’ll be able to tell her friends of God’s greatness, explaining that He made the gospel clear to her as a child and continues to reveal something new to her regularly.

When she is 80, she’ll be able to share about a lifetime of walking with Jesus. Her testimony may not be “exciting,” but it doesn’t need to be. It will be spiritual gold.

No matter what your story is, God can and will use it. You have no idea how far-reaching your testimony can be. God says that His words will not return to Him void (Isa. 55:11). And the story of Jesus’ saving grace is always worth telling.

ECCLESIASTES 6:9🙏🏽❤️
“Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.”

The problem with a divided, unfocused mind is that it is, as we would say today, all over the place, seeking fulfillment in a host of things, pursuing a wide variety of goals, but rarely, if ever, coming to grips with the pursuit of revealed truth.

Many of us have television to thank for having a mind like this as it has played a major role in destroying peoples' attention span. The attention span of Americans is now getting down into the neighborhood of seven minutes: the length of time between advertising on television.

We have a hard time focusing for any period of time, and television is constantly pushing its mind-numbing banalities into our minds, making it difficult for us to do what is absolutely necessary for us to do, that is, to spend time in heartfelt prayer and study, seeking God.

The chances are very great that we sit down to read the Bible, and our eyes get heavy, and we struggle to fight off sleep. It happens because we have no passion for Jesus Christ.

God is teaching us what defragments our mind: seeking Him with a passionate desire to be like Him. This works to make our minds one with His.
AMEN🙏🏽😇❤️
