Today the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, joined by parishes and faithful across the country. The act of consecration takes place as part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Sacred Journeys: Praying for Migrants and Refugees

Join us Monday, June 15, 2026, from 6:30–7:30 p.m. at Cathedral Square Park, 520 E. Wells St. in Milwaukee for prayer, reflection, and solidarity with migrants and refugees. The service will include music, scripture readings, intercessory prayers, and a brief reflection to walk with those who have journeyed in search of safety and new beginnings. All are welcome — bring a folding chair.

Sharing this one day late! Venerable Pierre Toussaint, pray for us!

Venerable Pierre Toussaint (1766–1853) is the patron saint of barbers and hair stylists. Toussaint was a devout Catholic born in Haiti and brought to New York City as a slave. He died a free man, a renowned hairdresser, and a well-known Catholic in New York City. In 1996, he was declared Venerable by Pope John Paul II.

A Prayer for Mother’s Day:

Loving God, as a mother gives life and nourishment to her children, so you give life and care for your Church.

Bless our mothers, as we celebrate the day in their honor.

May the example of Mary, mother of Jesus, inspire them to live their vocation as Christian mothers and to call their children to faith. Let their example of faith and love shine forth: guide and protect them in challenging times and may they celebrate well in times of joy.

Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor and appreciate them with a spirit of profound respect all of their days.

Grant this through Christ our Lord.
