Our May book of the month is Rejoice and Tremble by Michael Reeves. This book guides the reader through a faithful exposition of Scripture combined with the writings of early church fathers and puritans to help us discover (or recover) a fresh understanding of the reverent and exhilarating fear of the Lord. In Rejoice and Tremble, Reeves clears the clouds of confusion and shows that the fear of the Lord is not a negative thing at all, but an intensely delighted wondering at God.

This Sunday will be Ross and Bella’s final week with us at Vertical Church. We are deeply thankful for their faithful service, love for the church, and the many ways they have encouraged and cared for our church family during their time here.

To celebrate and honor them, we will be having a luncheon following the worship service this Sunday. We would love for you to join us as we thank them and pray for them as they head into all that God has for them in this next season.

Since the community of believers is a gift from God and a means of His grace, we strive to grow in biblical love for one another and are eager to welcome others as Christ has welcomed us.
