Sometimes, recovery is through more than simply "soldiering" on!

10/12/2026

Avalon wants to first and foremost thank God for His protection and provision through Hurricane Isaias. While it was worse than expected and we do have damage to our campus, as do many of our members have extensive damage, the body of Christ is alive serving each other and our community. The church was never a building and times like this remind us how wonderful it is to have a family beyond our own.

Our church is working with Florida Baptist Disaster Relief and housing EMS workers for our area. We wanted to share this compilation of multiple resources available in our area If you need assistance.

Wednesday Night Dinner is canceled. I (Beverly) will be here between 6:30 and 7:30 for an informal prayer time. Come when you can, spend time in prayer for our families, church families and neighbors who have been affected by this storm. Come spend 5 or 10 minutes with me and others. I am opening this to the public too.

A message of hope from Pastor Matt as we begin recovery from Hurricane Isaias...

10/10/2026

At the request of county emergency management, we are canceling our regular worship services this week due to unsafe road conditions. Your safety is a priority; we strongly urge you to follow local emergency guidelines and stay off roads unless necessary.

Remember that even though we cannot gather for normal service, the work of the church does not stop. We are working with our association and Florida Baptist Disaster Relief (currently setup at Hillcrest) to help coordinate critical relief efforts. We will relay more information as plans are made.

Please pray, look out for your neighbors, and continue to lean into God’s grace and protection.

Hope, Pastor Matt

We will be meeting tonight. The youth are sponsoring tonight's dinner at 5 pm for a fundraiser. Classes are at 6 pm but we will also be discussing hurricane preparedness and preparing the church for our upcoming bad weather.

We cancel services if we are under a Hurricane Warning, unless instructed by emergency services otherwise to close prior to that. But always use your judgement based on the current situation in your area when making travel decisions for your safety and others.
