Yes! We will gather for worship tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM. It will be a casual and informal service of thanksgiving and intercession following the devastation and destruction of Hurricane Isaias. There will likely be no electrical power, so we meet in fellowship hall.

I hope to see you at church.

A Prayer Before the Storm

Loving God,

As Hurricane Isaias approaches, we ask for protection over our families, our homes, our church, and those impacted by the rising waters and high winds. We surrender our fear to You, choosing to trust the promise that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.

Quiet the anxiety within. Steady our spirits. Let us know the peace of Your presence in the midst of the storm.

We ask Your help for the days that follow. Give us the endurance and the strength for this season of recovery. When we are weary, renew our energy; when we are overwhelmed, revive our hope.

Fill us with a spirit of compassion and generosity. Give us hearts of mercy for both the neighbors we know by name and the strangers we have yet to meet. May we be Your hands and feet, offering shelter, food, and comfort to anyone in distress. Teach us to carry one another's burdens and to build each other up in encouragement and love.

We place our lives and our community in Your care, trusting always in Your grace.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
