Sometimes Gods lessons are taught in nature. Are you going through hard times? Look to God.
When a crow feels sick it does something surprising. It does not fly away to hide. It goes to an ant nest and allows the ants to crawl all over its feathers. As the ants release formic acid the hidden parasites begin to die and the crow slowly recovers. This creation instinct is called anting. No medicine. No tablets. Just a God-given wisdom placed in its nature long before humans ever discovered cures.
In the same way the Scriptures teach that God has already placed within us what we need for healing and restoration. David said in Psalm twenty three that the Lord restores my soul. Jesus said in Matthew eleven that all who are weary should come to Him and He will give rest. God has provided His presence, His word, and His people as places where our wounded hearts can be cleansed. Just as the crow willingly goes where healing happens we must also come humbly before God rather than hiding our pain.
Sometimes healing does not come in the way we expect. The crow looks foolish lying on the ground as ants crawl over it yet that is the path to recovery. In the same way God sometimes brings us through uncomfortable moments to cleanse attitudes, sins, and burdens that cling to our hearts. But when we submit to His work we rise stronger. The crow leaves the nest refreshed and we too walk away renewed when we let God do His quiet work in us.
