God doesn't always remove the danger. He delivers you through it.

Israel followed God's presence straight to the Red Sea and got trapped between the water and Pharaoh's army. That wasn't a wrong turn — it was exactly where God led them.

He held back the army. He opened the path. But Israel still had to walk. They had to step into what looked impossible and trust that following God was safer than staying put.

Same for us. We want God to change our circumstances. He may be asking us to trust Him and obey right in the middle of them.

Did you know the self-improvement industry is worth something like fifty billion dollars a year?

Books. Apps. Coaches. Courses. All of it built on the same hope, that if we just try hard enough, we can fix ourselves.

Turns out this isn't a new problem. People have been trying to save themselves for thousands of years, in some pretty extreme ways.

This past week's message is about what it actually looks like to stop trying, and what's waiting on the other side when you do.

Freedom isn't the same as relief.

Pharaoh wanted relief without surrender. A lot of us do too — we just want the pain to stop, the stress to ease, the pressure to lift. But God wasn't just trying to get Israel out of Egypt. He was trying to get Egypt out of them.

Fear. Approval. Control. Comfort. The things we let run our lives don't always look like slavery — but they hold on just as tight. And no matter how long something's had a grip on you, God is still able to lead you out and teach you how to actually live free.

If you're not okay right now, you're not alone, and you don't need to fake it here.

This past Sunday we talked about what happens when you stop pretending and just tell the truth about what you're carrying — and why that might be the most important thing you do all week.

You can cry out to God even when you don't have it all figured out yet. Even more importantly, knowing He is with you just might be the most powerful thing you need during the waiting.
