Uzbeks of Post-Soviet Central Asia
(OOZ-beks) – “My religious teachers told me that I should read the Law, the Psalms, and the Gospels.” That’s what Henry, an Uzbek man, recently told a believer. He looked very sincere when he said, “I want to read it.” This was a surprise to the believer because it’s highly unusual for a local religious teacher to encourage people to read the Bible. Muslims are often told not to read it because it has been changed and corrupted. People are literally scared to read it, like they might be committing some sin. The believer could see that this man has been doing everything that his religion asks, but it is never enough; it’s all based on his works. The believer helped Henry to download a Bible app on his smartphone, and they started reading Luke 1 together. Would you please pray that the Lord will move in Henry’s heart so that he will read the Scriptures on his own? The believer would like for Henry to read it and then for them to talk about what he read.

Turks of Central Anatolia and the Black Sea Coast
(an-uh-TOHL-yuh) – Give thanks to God for a young man who professed faith in Christ this summer through the witness of some visiting believers! Alan is from a neighboring country and is studying at a university. He is currently studying the Bible along with a local fellowship and has begun baptism classes. Pray for his continued growth in the faith.

Ngoni of Tanzania
(n-GO-knee) – Please pray for Ngoni believers in the same manner as the Apostle Paul prayed for the believers in the church at Colossae: “And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding” (Colossians 1:9 ESV).

Orthodox Greeks of Thessaloniki, Greece
(theh-sah-loh-NEE-kee) – “The city of Thessaloniki has one of the densest university student populations in all of Europe,” workers write. “Approximately one in eight people we meet on the streets is a student. Earlier this year, next to a university, a new church plant opened. It is a coffee shop during the week and a church on Sundays. Students are spiritually curious, but closed to institutions. Please pray as we begin to make a strategic evangelistic effort to reach students on the university and start Discovery Bible Study groups. Pray that God will lead students to the coffee shop where they will hear the gospel.”

Yangon, Myanmar
(yan-GONG) – In downtown Yangon, believers and unbelievers spend time together at local outreach clubs. Through these outreach clubs, relationships are built and doors are opened for gospel conversations. Recently, twelve unbelievers heard the gospel clearly during one-on-one coffee shop meetings with a believer after the local club meeting. Pray that unbelievers in Yangon will be open to learning more about Jesus.

Peoples of the Konkan Coast, India
(KAHN-kin) – Pray for the physical, spiritual, and mental health of believers living along the Konkan Coast who desire to do ministry work in the city and villages. Pray for them as they work to share the gospel in areas where the gospel is not always well received because of political beliefs or traditional religious beliefs. Lift them up as they face persecution due to new local anti-conversion laws that make it difficult for them to meet in homes for gospel sharing and discipleship. Ask for churches to be strong in the face of persecution. Pray for pastors to be bold and wise in their churches, among their congregations, and with those who have yet to hear the gospel!

Theological Education in Malawi
Please pray for the start of the September term at the Baptist College of Malawi as two International Mission Board missionaries teach on campus and another one serves a distance-learning site. Pray for the continued preparation of future pastors and church leaders, and intercede for God’s provision for students and their families. “Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:20-21 ESV).

South Asian Unengaged Peoples
Please pray for the Mogia people living in the state of Rajasthan, India. Thankfully, the gospel is being regularly shared through local leaders among this group of people who are very destitute and without any known believers. Pray for those being shared with to believe and for healthy churches to form.
